Hello Everyone,

As 4 letter .com domains are flying at a price where most of us can't invest bulk is there any chance of 5 letter.com domains to pop up in the market with a sudden increase in demand.

I am very found of bulk domain buyout and sellout and after 4 letter.com i think it should be the time for 5 letter.

I can also see a few people are buying 5 letter .com domains for 2-4$ each. Sometimes its going even 30-40$ here on namepros. i know its not for reseller price but what you people think of actual reseller price for 5 letter.com. If you people can suggest anything that would be great.

Thanks.

A few characteristic research on 5l.coms shows almost 60% of them are registered. By characteristic i am intending to target domains that follow a specific latter combination ( to eliminate garbage 5l.coms). As equity78 says "4L are liquid, 5L are not currently" i totally agree with that but can't ignore research as well.

I have collected all the 5l.com combination and running availability search on all of them bulk. Still Not all are done but what i have got so far is quite interesting. That's why i opened the topic.

What i have learned:

*** Yes there are quite a few that can be hand register but the ratio are pointing to in favor of 5l investment.
***Almost 2/3 of any characteristic domains are registered ( Domains that are ending or starting with a characteristic )
*** Most of the pronounceable domains are registered.
*** Random reoccurring of letters has no value like 4l.com had ( Examples : zzdxxp.com or even zzzxx.com)
*** It seems to be a few are registering every day. ( Though i am collecting data based on whois update of a few 5l.com Now planning to get mad on my server about 5l research on each and every one of them )

I also believe the 5l.com market will rise after 2-3 years from now but as we all know its just a prediction. Just was confused if i should burn my server to research the 5l.com and i got my answer. i think its time to collect 5l.com sales records and whois change or whois data. It might not be the right time for 5 letter but i think i will take the risk.

Let me know what you people think about it. I will try to update you people with the research date.

Thanks.
When you first asked the question it seemed like you wanted to know if any random 5L had value. Random 5Ls have zero value but the ones below do have value.

1. Random 5Ls have zero value and will never have any value xvwqc, urcxw etc….worthless.
2. Most good pronounceable 5Ls have value. Good 4 letter words ending in any vowel is money in the bank unless the word ends in a vowel then you would want a letter that makes it pronounceable.
3. 5Ls ending in inc have value. (all taken)
4. 5Ls ending in co have value (most taken when the first 3 letters are a good acronym)
5. 4 letter word plus random letter have very good value when it makes sense. nvert, xspot, etc..
6. 4 letter word plus random letter that makes no sense do have value sometimes. vleap, zlink, etc..
7. 5Ls ending in a popular combination have value sometimes. lvxxx, tcxxx, etc…..
8. There are always going to be outliers that has value to someone. xvycr may mean something to one person in the world but that doesn't make it an investment.

Tip: Don't believe everything you read about 4Ls. Remember we all read the same posts and the same blogs and it is VERY EASY to manipulate this market by a few people here and there creating random articles and posts. Think about it, now some are saying that 3N .xyz domains are the next big thing. LOL

How to make money easy? Accumulate a lot of one thing and then tell everyone it's the next big thing. Your lot of nothing just became worth something. As the old saying goes, Don't believe the Hype!

456,976 total 4 Letters

11,881,376 total 5 Letters

All 4 letters are worth something. Not all 5 letters are worth something.

A good pronounceable 5L is worth getting but if it's a mediocre pronounceable it's not worth a .99 cent coupon code. There are just so many 5Ls to choose from.

Random letter combinations are garbage and will never ever be worth anything. If you buy any make sure they are pronounceable.

I have heard the same thing about the 4l.com non primium garbage. People was talking about not every 4 letter.com is worth a while but now you can't grab a garbage lass then 80$ lol.

Ok lets say 5 letter.com does not share the characteristics of the 4L.com but what about acronyms. Or maybe 5 letters ending with inc , co ,ny, ca etc what about that.

If they are not worth it at all why random 4l.coms are selling so high.

Thanks in advance.

You are right there are complete garbage combinations in 5l.com, but as you have mentioned about
pronounceable domains are worth it can you explain what are the characteristics of a pronounceable 5.com

I have seen in forums people look for 5l.coms with at lest 3 vowels. Some preffer cvcvc.coms. Do you have any rules.

Thanks.

All the LLLL .com's are gone. If you want one, you have to buy one on the aftermarket from someone who owns one.

If you want a random LLLLL .com, all you have to do is register a new one. There's no demand for them on the aftermarket and probably never will be because there's so many to go around.

If they're pronounceable/brandable or have a premium letter combination, then yes they'll have value like any other type of domain of that nature.

I think there is time for random LLLLL.com to become more valuable.

That is 11,881,376 not 1.1 million.

5 letters are desirable when they are M.U.P.S. Made Up Pronounceables, plenty of names like this sell on Brand Bucket, Brand Root, Namerific etc...

Hooli.com featured on HBO's Silicon Valley, Vimeo.com the You Tube competitor, those names are where people focus on 5L.com. I just sold Xqqm.com on here for $335, I would have no interest hand registering Xqqqm.com, there is no market. 4L are liquid, 5L are not currently.

The five letter market does not share the characteristics of the 4L.com market xnwqz.com has no inherent intrinsic value based of a liquid market. I think people have extended 4N to 5N and that has had some liquid value but with letters that does not hold true.

LLLLL will never have equal value of LLLL as LLLL dont have vaule of LLL. Some pronounceable domain in LLLLL can be worth in the future but you have to wait for at least 2-3 years for that or may be more.

"As LLLL dont have vaule of LLL". I have heard this so many time when i was investing on 4l.coms but look at the llll.com sales they actually sell near llll.coms.

why? Because you have 17576 lll.coms lets say they sell for 1,00,000 each total 175,76,00,000 and if you think of llll.com lets say they sell for 500 each 4,56,570 i guess total 22,82,85,000 dont you think its worth while to invest 20-50$ on a market and get a return like that more then investing minimum 6-10k for a domain. Lol

Thanks.

Look it is a big world, what happened with 4L.com was that the names that were called junk back in 2005, were domains that had letter combos that did not appeal to North American linguistics, acronyms and business interests. Then China became a big player and made 4L.com a perfect place for domain investors, the one's that Western Europe, Canada and the U.S. didn't like, the Chinese do, and the one's they don't like the Western Europeans, Canadians and U.S. like. So it is perfect synergy.

The only combo on the outs are 4L with the letter V that are not pronounceable. The Chinese do not recognize V and Western Europe/North America have little use for vzqx.com.

I think you will find the sales data will be more important than the registration numbers, a lot of nmxzq.com names are used for spam that I have seen. Plus the fact that it is a big world plenty of people register domain names and get caught up in regging a lot of one category.

The thing for 5L.com as a whole to pick up and gain some kind of liquid value is buyouts, it is going to be hard to see over 11 million names regged and held.

See 4N.com I remember handregging in 2004 like the idiot I am, I only focused on certain combos, mostly ending in 99, because back then I knew nothing of the Chinese factor, I was regging them for my own idea.

Once they were all registered, the thought came to 5N.com and the first people proposing it were laughed at, or called suckers, but eventually they got regged and now you can get something for your 5N.com that is more than a registration fee, now the crowd has moved to 6n.com, can it work ? Who knows, patterns matter,so 333888.com will go for $3,000 but 438453.com hold little to zero value.

So for 5L.com it would need to mimic the action in 5N.com when 4N.com became sold out and the value went up.

Would I take something like MMMMM.com ? Sure for the novelty value, but where 33388.com is a good 5N.com, I don't know MMMNN.com has any value.

Just because it's pronounceable doesn't mean it's worth anything. These are all junk except for the obvious ones, Bunch and Vamos.

I didn't say they were worth anything, just answered his question.

Besides, Buzor is legit a 5 figure sale waiting to happen.

cm4150 you can transfer the domain to 1and1.com for 1$ if its on other register and get 1 year free renewal. It will help you hold the domain longer with low investment.

ok got it, but we don't have any account at 1and1, At first I did not like any other registrar

only using godaddy

AVOID 1&1!!!

Tons of warnings on them here on Namepros.

It's Hooli.xyz :)

Thank you I was writing so fast and thinking of 5L although there is a Hooli.com as well, that promotes another part of the second season.

I don't think bulk buying of 5L will be a good investment. What I mean by that? If you find someone who wants to sell you whole bunch of 5Ls. The reason is that market for 5Ls is still weak and developing, it will take at least few years or may be 5-10 years before it can get to the level of 4L market today. I highly doubt that you can find the whole portfolio of quality 5Ls for sale. You may find portfolio full of crappy ones with a few jems in it, that someone who's tired of waiting for few years looking to get rid of. And he already picked few names he wants to keep. You'll be better of handregging good 5L then buying in bulk.
