Today I closed the sale of LTCminer .org for 0.28 bitcoin (corresponding to 3k). The domain came from a large hand-regging spree at the crypto boom stage. It got 3 figure offers a fair few times a year so I was willing to hold out for 4 fig. This sale was negotiated up from $100, so shows the benefit of always putting in a counter.

I think you got the best price for this domain. Congrats.

Congratulations on the sale! Please share your first response the the low-ball offer...I always have to force myself to remain calm when I get one of these...sometimes it does not work out and I let my tongue fly off the handle!
I always just reply with a polite and short message. This is how much I’m willing to sell the domain for sort of thing. One or two sentences, no hard sell.

org crypto names are hard rare sales ..even older better ones...so dont on avg it will pay u more not to go on org buy spree...than to go on one. .minus few exceptions. ;)

I had a similar crypto .org sale related to mining, as of yet unreported since I still hold the .com as well, which the buyer didn’t prioritize. Congrats, OP!

I actually had a reasonable amount of success with crypto .orgs for 3 figure hand reg flips. They seemed to have a bit of a niche popularity in the industry.

Never sold one outside of crypto however.

how many days since first email to deal done?
and how many emails?
how regularly they reply?
did you know they're end user?
Just over 2 months from offer through landing page to transfer.

Replies were sporadic hence the large period of time taken to actually close the deal.

I was pretty confident they were an end user based off researching the email and finding the other domains they owned.

I can imagine the email negotiation for 2 months:

1st week:
Buyer: $100
Seller: $20,000

2nd week:
Silence

3rd week:
Buyer: $200
Seller: $10,000

4th week:
Buyer: $500
Seller: $7,000

5th week:
Buyer: $1,000
Seller: $6,000

6th week:
Buyer: $2,000
Seller: $4,888

7th week:
Silence

Last week:
Buyer: $3,000
Seller: $3,000 is okay.

Happy End :)

Just kidding.
Congrats.

.org is popular in crypto domains and LTC is of the most popular coin in thousands of altcoins. $3,000 isn't too much for it.
