Crypto-Engineering Domain Crypteering.com, which was registered on June 13th 2024 received an astounding 1 Million Dollar+ Atom appraisal. Now fast forward 10 weeks later and Atom has reappraised the domain at a decrepit $2,199.

Thoughts??!?

It was never worth anywhere near that amount in the first place.

i think the reappraisal is more wrong than the original one due to the fact that the us government is now interested and moving forward with crypto as an alternative to the dollar anyway. I wouldve placed the reappraisal closer to the original appraisal but still wouldve taken the appraisal correction. $2k is too low for this domain anyway. Especially with a site that on a regular basis gives appraisals and prices 3x that.

crypteer dawt com would be a better choice of picking between the two.

If you had to give it an appraisal how much would you say it’s worth @The Durfer ?

Hard to say, i really want to see after the elections where our government is going before i make a boldface statement. Id say a good squadhelp (atom) appraisal of this domain, not a namepros appraisal, mind you, shouldve been around the $175k - $250k range

thats what so interesting about this thread. Here at namepros, i wouldve gone with the second appraisal anyway. Prices on namepros always reflect a reseller, wholesale price result anyway.

The internet is funny because everything is just a type away, but really business has always had a front with absolute ignorance or blindness to the depth of a company and how they generate their revenue anyway. If you dont mind indulging me, it seems that in the physical world, one of the key strategies of profits, was to find the lowest prices you could as a reseller and keep it a secret and display your retail store as the only means as to getting the product or the best price of the product. See, with the internet, we can look into any field out there and see the wholesale, game of mercy, ironfist that is rising in the raw resource factor of demand and supply.

Are we looking at the same domain here?

Is "Crypteering" some term I am not aware of?

Search engine results bring up mainly threads on Namepros and the .com listed for sale at other places.

The term is not really taken in other domains or extensions.

At first glance it seems like this is some nothing term to me.

What am I missing?

I mean why isnt everything just wholesale to the public now? Pharmaceuticals, techno devices, gold mined from the mountains, we are in a world now where all that was behind the curtains and would only show the consumer, the buyer, the other side, pretty little shops for everything. The infrastructure of business and how it is indoctrinated into the people anyway has changed so much, but the text books are still reflecting the physical world habits of doing business. The students now are conflicted and seeing such a contrast from how they can see the other side of the planet now, and whats coming out of our mouths of teaching them anyway.

We cant grow again..... All we can do is climb the mountain, see the view, experience a high, then descend to our death.

like i said, the namepros view of domaining is reseller and wholesale and the 2 appraisal that atom gave it was a high namepros appraisal anyway. You arent understanding the appraisal is from atom.com (squadhelp) they have xzqr dot com domains anyway for $4500 (not really but a fictious example).

Imagineering did quite well at the time of its conception.

I can't remember the last time I saw a domain like this sell for a couple hundred thousand dollars.

if you take 39% of $1mm on atom.com, you would have $390k. My appraisal is lower than this percentage anyways. I guess what im saying is, if i was on atom.com forum with this discussion my appraisal would be an atom.com appraisal. Im only being fair to myself and others by stating the obvious difference in a retail platform and a resellers forum

39% of an absurd number is still an absurd number.

Sure thing.

The domain is Crypteering. There is also crypteer and crypteers.

That aside, the variant Cryptoneering / cryptoneer / cryptoneers is a far more brandable.

Domains like this don't sell for crazy members, no matter how many new members are promoting it.

exactly. Im not arguing. i think the prices on the retail platforms are ridiculous too but hey, i dont wont to be bullied out of the industry either, im a hobbyist i want to look at classic (cars) domains and observe and admire the industry for years to come. I dont want Armageddon yesterday.
