Hey guys,

So I want to start registering mass amounts of domains trying to sell them. How do I know if I registered a good domain name, or if people will be interested.

Is there any guides out there on how to flip domains?

Thanks

the best guide available is namepros. I would highly suggest reading here before you go wasting your money on "mass domains".

you should read your post in reverse:

before i go out there and try to flip domains, how would i know if the names i'm interesting in are any good or if anyone else would be interested... before i register them.

:)

answer = read

Read all you can find here on namepros.

Better than any ebook or guide.

If not, move on and forget domaining.

if you let newbie's lead you, you're surely go down wrong path

Where should I go for information then?

Where should I go for information then?

start with:

read all appraisal threads, read all sales threads, read all domains wanted threads.

get an idea of what other members, think of other members names

get idea of what has sold and at what price

get idea of what buyers are looking for and how much they are willing to pay

Okay, this helped a lot. Thank you man.

D-:

I have one tip: quality > quantity.

So don't buy 100 domains, buy one quality domain. Not a handreg.

If you accumulate a pile of junk domains you won't make sales often and the renewal fees will crush you.

This is your first mistake!

Dont reg until you know what your doing and still start off with very low numbers, good luck

Some of the most experienced and succesfull domainers have shared their insights in that thread, so they are guiding him - not me. There's a reason this thread is sticky.

Your advice to read the sales threads can be found within that thread as well.

And besides, who cares if you are a newbie to domaining or you're in it for years. What matters is SUCCESS. If profit means success then I'm already having success.

With your strategy you are destined tolose a lot of money. Save your money on those 100 domains and buy 1 or 2 domains instead. Learn to walk before you can run.

sharing info, does not make it a guide

and sending one to "how to sell to end-users" first, should not be first on the list for newbie's to delve into.

would you want an intern performing surgery or a long time resident physician?

as the likelyhood of success from an operation is highly favored, if a doctor operates rather than the intern.

sure profit can be a measure of success, but the margin of profit can dictate how skillful you really are or will be.

imo...

Definitely. Junk doesn't sell and you have a great opportunity not to make the same mistake as most of us did in spending hours wasting hard cash on cr*p. The vast vast majority of people don't make any money out of the game. If you are set on doing it then I would repeat the answers above about reading masses first. Boring I know but it's better than wasting cash.

My best outcomes have been on buying a couple of good keyword domains in the aftermarket that you have a chance to rank with, publishing good content then going direct to companies that are advertising on Adsense etc. This route needs a bit of interest in the subject matter though, or you can get very bored. Choose your route wisely.

Good luck BTW.
