Hi all,

I'm on my way to develop a brand new domain name aftermarket website (preview at http://neptuni.com/preview - feel free to subscribe at www.neptuni.com !) and yes, I'm hand-coding everything from scratch.

Right now I'm creating the "users online" page which can be found here at http://raphire.com/test/online.php`

(Trying to immitate the forums to show online users and max users online etc..)

one question about the web development concept though, is it advisable for me to create a new db table just to store the site stats?

Etc...
1) one table to store max number of users ever online, time of last domain sold, numbers of domains sold, time last domain posted, number of active buyers and sellers
2) another db table "logs" to contain information of every page visits by every user

Is it advisable? Thanks!

Does it matter how many users are currently online? and why can't you use Google analytics for stats?

It isn't the main feature of my site, but to add on to the interactivity of the domain marketplace (I'm branding Neptuni as a "Social Domain Marketplace site", I guess it'll be a pretty good feature for users who are online to know what other users are online (not just the numbers, but who and ecetra)

Havent read too much into GA yet, I know it can keep track of the users, but I'm not sure whether the API allows interaction with my database to display usernames of the online users etc.
