Hi, i am currently working on building an automotive aftermarket parts catalog. My dad owns a company and currently has 3 stores located around the area. Every couple of months or so new car parts come out, some times the part numbers are not in his catalog, so he asks me to make him a parts lookup for the coutermen's. I usually start from an excel sheet, convert it to MS Access then minipulated the tables a little bit, build the queries so on....

My goal is to build a complete database for the products he sells, and even have it available online, Here is the start of it http://www.tichborne.com .

I am basically asking people for help retreiving the parts databases from the manufacters, which isn't that easy in most cases.. Most Manufactures such as FRAM Filters for example, give out CD-ROMS with an application that can be installed on the PC, once the application is installed there is a .mdb file that can be open and edited, which makes it very easy to add to a website, or perhaps later on a complete point - of -sale system!!!

If anyone is interested on working on this project with me, email me at [email protected] .

My database currently has :
Air Filters ; FRAM . done
Oil Filters ; FRAM. done
Exhaust Systems; Walker , Ultrafit . Need DB Files, or input the data myslef.
Shocks, Structs; Gabriel . Need DB Files, or input
Belts; Need DB Files.
etc..

If you have any latest CD-ROMS for automotive manufacters, please email me. If you are interested in helping, You will also get a copy of my database, which may come in handy to a repair shop or parts dealer later on. Or if you need help with your websites I can help out ( Scratch my back, i'll scratch yours)

The webiste is http://www.tichborne.com
