Hi,

Everybody. I just sold a domain name by using escrow.com. I already tranferred the domain name to the buyer, and the status on escrow of 2 days ago showed that: Funds disbursed. Final closing statements sent to both parties. But I did not get any penny at the moment. And there is not any notification at all. I just have time to make a contact with escrow.com. They told me that, there is "ofac alert" with the transfer, and let me to wait for the email from the USA government. But I am not a USA citizen, I am living in Europe. Plus, escrow refused to provide me any docoment about the transferring. How can I be sure that the transfer really happened? Or could it be a fraud? If it is a fraud by someone working in escrow.com, how can I do later?

The weird thing is that they thought they finish everything and now it is not their business at all. I just need to wait for the email from the government. But they cannot provide any documents to show that they really transfered the money to my bank account.

Does it happen to someone here once? I am glad to discuss with you.

International wire-transfer (SWIFT) takes up to 4-5 business days...

I highly doubt they did not send you the money, they are not some fly by night operation.

Either the seller or the buyer are on some list, maybe a false name match who knows.

What country is the seller / buyer?

This has something to do with your residence country. I think people from Ukraine, Russia and other eastern european countries go through the same process, but I believe they will send you the money once they confirm you are not the terrorist or so.

As long as your money is in the escrow, don't worry. You'll get it sooner or later. International transactions need more scrutiny :)

Hopefully you'll get the funds transferred soon.

Why is it called "OFAC"? Because when you see the news, you say "Oh, f*ck!" :D
