Verizonenergy dot com - does this domain name breaks any copyrights laws?
Should it be used ?

not sure about it 100% but Verizon is definitely a trademark and its not a dictionary word, so definitely would break trademark laws.

You should delete it.

Godaddy allows you to do this before expiry, so you can do this now. The sooner, the better.

Too late for a refund, but you can still avoid legal hassles, if you act now.

Why did you register this name in the first place ? That is the first question that will be asked if a dispute is filed against you, in order to determine your legitimate interests (or the lack thereof).

I registered because I wanted to use it for my solar energy business.
When I started building a website, someone told be I will be sued if I use that domain name.
