Copyright Free Images, where do I find them?

Hey,

I'm looking for some advice on where i find copyright Free images of Music Bands, groups, artists...etc

I am cuurently working on a site for UK Rock Band Kasabian and i have just started a "Design COntest" on Namepros for a Header on the site but all the designers are asking where they can get Images they can use which wont breach copyright.

I told them id find some images but after looking for a few hours online i cant find much info on the subject.

So can anyone tell me a good place to find copyright free images than designers can use in my website design??

SOrry if i sound rather dumb here but Images/Graphics really arent my subject so im lost. :?

And you can search "free stock images" from Google, there are tons of sites.

Hi again,

Thanks for link above but im still struggling to find Free Images of the band Kasabian.

I wnet through all links given on thread mentioned above but unfortunately none had any images of Band. I did find a few pics on site http://www.sxc.hu/ but not any that were too good.

Cam anyone else suggest anywhere where you can get Free Images of Bands, Music Acts, Celebrity...etc

Please share any possible Links you have so i can take a look, in the meantime i'll keep searching Google n Yahoo for Free Stock Images.

I have Emailed the band asking if i can use images from their website but im not sure if they will allow it or if they will reply.

Try wikipedia. A lot of the images that they use have a free for commercial use licence.

Regarding the terms "copyright free" and "royalty free" - they don't mean the same.
The photos on SXC.hu aren't copyright free, they are royalty free.

All Images on the Website are copyrighted and they are the properties of SXC or its Image providers.

Thanks for replies everyone, we have managed to condusct Header design contest without designers using any Images from other websites and the winning design looks good.

The designers had to make all images completely from scratch which i like as i feel too many "designers" simply copy & Paste images and then edit around the outside and add fancy Text using Photoshop or similar Programs.
