Wow that's absolutely amazing! This name wouldn't even be worth $1 on this forum. Must be an enduser who's planning on developing it into something.

Even more amazingly in that list is that mymtw.tv sold for 1,200 EURO!! That's just complete rubbish that name.

This was one of mine but a well timed offer caught me at the right moment and I was happy to sell so I could recoup some funds after buying automobile tv and celebs tv

I personally thought Consumer Tv was a brilliant brand and I did have a very nice plan for how to develop the name. The new owner, as far as I am aware, is from India, and I hope he does well with his purchase.

A lot of sales are totally going under the radar now that everyone is just a that bit more guarded about their business dealings in .TV these days.

I recently sold Brit tv for $5k and Wohnung tv for $4400 via sedo and don't think they were even mentioned. I would have been lucky to get more than $50 each for them on namepros

It appears there is such a disconnect between the real world view of .tv and the namepros view of .tv that domainers seem to shy away from TV because it is 'risky'. I think in the real world people understand that the .TV sites they are seeing more and more of across the world are a clue that tv is actually doing quite well all on its own.

Another thing I've noticed is the large number of private sales going on. The whois never lies and there are a lot of changes in ownership in recent months.

In my case I've just totted up that in the past three months I've sold Detroit, Glasgow, Monkey, plus two UK geo TV names and I understand that the market is not as flip-floppy as the lack of conversation here would suggest.

Congrats on the sales, I think consumer.tv is a great name as well.

That is so cool that you sold Brit.tv, do you happen to know who the buyers were? I hope it's Brit Morin from Brit.co, she just received 6.3m in funding - she deserves the name out of all people for what she has accomplished. This is screaming IPTV DIY purchases all the way!

Why are there so many more unreported/private sales in .tv than other extensions ?

You are very astute ... and correct.

A very nice and very professional lady. I can see why people want to fund her project to the tune of $6.5m

I had actually bought the name BRIT to stand for BRitish Internet Television to go with the local geo TV channels idea in the UK.

I decided pretty soon after trialling the name that it wasn't appropriate for that particular purpose. I now have a new name for that purpose and the buyer has a great name to use how they feel best.

Nobody said there were? If you want my personal view then I assume the same would apply to all extensions.
I merely suggested that many of the old .tv guys are not as keen to share info as they used to be. ie they don't post sales and findings as often as they did in the past so TV related stuff was being missed in a big way. Something noticed even more when the environment/feel/vibe at NP towards .tv is, at best, on the domainer spectrum in the arae between 'negative' to 'don't get it'.
No NDA conspiracy here. Perhaps you need to go elsewhere for that..

(now I know why I pay that bit extra at name.com)

It's based more on skewed view than anything.

No one cares about an unreported sale of $5K in the .com or relevant ccTLD because it's more frequent and statistically less relevant than the same thing in .TV.

There are a smaller core set of investors (you call them collectors) that don't want to be too conspicuous.

etc. etc.

But also - when did you last question a reported .com NDA in a forum? People lie a lot, domainers lie a lot more. I think a huge portion of reported sales on NP are complete poppycock. I doubt most private sales on DNJ. I don't see you running too often around the rest of the forum calling fake NDA. There are so many instances of fake sales here it's not even worth listening to most people.

JJ has very little to gain through his posts - I think he likes to remind us he exists and to tell us that we should be doing more useful things than STILL being on Namepros like it's some bad crack addiction. He has been more open and honest about his successes and failures than anyone on this forum. This is just his view from where he sits and I'm confident that he lies less than most because he's not really a domainer :)
