.com already registered

I have thought of a couple of short unique domain names. Problem is someone else has also, the .com of these domains have already been registered :td:

What is the value of registering another TLD for these domains? The .coms are not developed sites, just parked pages.

Thoughts?

First try to buy the .coms. I am currently trying to aquire a few. Though people are pick and wont sell some times. The best thing you could do is buy all the other extensions, redirect them to your main site (use a dot info) and then promote your name dot info. Dont go dont net route dot info is better.

i'm not domainer for long time but

.net -> just 3 letters , better known that .info because of long years on market,
and it sounds like network (where peple can do something there)

.info -> 4 letters, register 2 years old ? , and lot of people register them because they are cheap (at moment), info sounds like just for looking (where you get info)

if i was you, i'd try register the .net or if you have abit of spare money, try emailing the .com owner and offering or even asking how much he is willing to accept for the domain name.
you can only try.

.info is just less compatible with many keywords compared to .net or .us. .NET is quite a solid alternative ext to .coms, so i would go with that more than some of the tlds we're talk about like .info or .org.

of course to get the most bang for your buck (literally... one buck) a .info never HURT anyone...
