It's good for branding but most ppl will likely remember it as "colddrinks.com" opposed to "coldrinks without 2 D's .com." I'd pass on it.

I would much rather have a Cold Beer than a Cold Rink.

Don't buy.

it all depends on if it gets any traffic from mistyping colddrinks.com...

Not really worht it, I mean, no one would remember it with the lack of a letter. I doubt it gets much traffic anyway!

I think it's worth reg. fee reseller (no more, no less).

Not too shabby for branding purposes. Whenever anyone I know says "cold drinks" it always comes out sounding like "coldrinks". Plus, it's not too difficult to tell a friend "my store's website is coldrinks.com, with only one 'd'".

ColDrinks.com was once registered and has over 10 years of whois history. WeBrowsers.com has been registered since 2001.

If you're a high-budget domainer ($25,000+), pay reg. fee and hold. Otherwise, forget about it.

IMO, the worst possible names- like, seriously- the WORST- are names that go out of their way to "trick" the user by using common letters to spell compound words or phrases, letters to represent words, etc.

In Chicago, there's a charity called "Kars 4 Kids" where people can donate their old cars for the tax write off.
Their website is Kars4Kids.org, with a phone number 1-877-Kars4Kids

The run radio ads all the time, with a child singing their name to a catchy tune...

Now, lets say you're on your way home from work, hear their radio ad and decide that you want to get rid of the old car sitting in the garage. After hearing a commercial that stated "Cars For Kids" over and over, what are the chances that you'll wind up on Kars4Kids, or call 877Kars4Kids?
Very, very unlikely. Whoever owns CarsForKids is reaping the majority of every advertising dollar they spend- whoever decided to use that name for a marketing brand should be shot.

These sort of names are the worst of the worst of the worst of the worst. I'd rather randomly bang my fists into a keyboard and register whatever came up than use a name that goes out of its way to be 'tricky'.

In the case of Kars 4 Kids, I doubt it was used to "trick" anyone. It was likely perceived as clever and smart by the Powers That Be. The latter just isn't the case.

But the point of your post goes through.

"should be shot" is a little harsh. I think they did a good job securing common spellings and/or extensions for their purpose. Also, the jingle I heard in NY this weekend embeddded the "K" in my head (second line of the jingle). The funny thing is this -- while in a bar, this jingle came on (don't ask me why). Believe it or not, more than half the bar is SINGING this jingle word for word!!! It was pretty funny :)

Regarding the OP's question, Coldrink.com is not a bad typo -- if I owned ColdDrink.com, I would want to protect it with this typo...

Regards,
DN

Agreed

Not really worht it, I mean, no one would remember it with the lack of a letter. I doubt it gets much traffic anyway!

Missing the letter, the most you could hope for is a little typo traffic if someone actually branded the real site - colddrinks.com

Save your money!

The name remains available to register after 48+ hours of discussion and 313+ views on a leading domain forum. Why? Better names can be hand regged.

I thought I had reg'd Las Vegas Strip (.tv)

But instead, I later discovered that I had actually reg'd:

LasVegasTrip (.tv)

(Yeah, yeah, I know. Registering a three word .tv was my first mistake.)

While I don't have ColdDrinks.com, I did pick-up ClubSodas.com. Pairs nicely with LemonSour.com.

I figure, what's the difference between ColdDrinks.com & ClubSodas.com anyway?*

*Maybe a brand new car or down payment on a small house? :hehe:)
