CoinMena.com Coin "Middle East North Africa"

Ok I can finally announce the sale of CoinMena.com. No NDA but I agreed not to mention who bought the domain even though a quick check is easy enough. The buyer would like to remain anonymous but does not mind the publicity from the sale of CoinMena.com.

Sorry guys. Don't take this photo seriously. It's for shock value not show off value and perhaps for exposure. Just goofin off. Check out that huge melon! (unfortunately empty!) lol

IMG_20190718_182030.jpg

So this makes CoinMena.com at $25,000 the 5th largest domain sale for a domain beginning with keyword "Coin" and highest domain sale for a domain ending with "Mena". MENA stands for Middle East North Africa.

I wish the buyer the best. Met him in person in NYC. Had lunch with buyer at Veselka's, my treat.

Side Note: The buyer told me that the broker they hired to get CoinMena.com for them told them that at most CoinMena.com should cost only $25,000. Buyer told me that Broker offered $8,000+ to me which the broker did and that the broker planned to sell it to them for $25,000. Buyer did not like this arrangement he told me and decided to buy from me directly since we were already in contact prior to the broker being brought in. I really did not understand why they felt the need to bring a broker into the mix.

If it can be avoided, I really would rather not deal with a broker.

Although that's what I did with my last sale PaladinDrones.com.

When brokers contact me, as a rule I ignore, but in this case I said "why not?"

I have no issue with the broker in this case. I'd probably do the same and try to flip a domain for quick profit.

I hope giving this info will help other domainers make the right decision.

I had asked for a ridiculous price of $250,000 so I guess $25,000 was a relief to them.

First we were warned that today. Godaddy users were experiencing issues with transferring domains via Godaddy Push but not external transfers. Supposedly when you do a transfer. The Transfer Button is not made available. But we did not experience that. What we did experience was that the buyer did not receive transfer confirmation email after I had accepted the whois info change update.

The transaction took long because there was an issue pushing the domain from one Godaddy account to another Godaddy account. Had to cancel transfer. Then there was an "error". So ended up transferring to Google Domains.

In which case, Godaddy rep warned me that Google Domains an "experiment" that was being phased out. and the transfer might end up in limbo. I don't know what he was talking about as the transfer went off without a hitch over to Google. Buyer said Godaddy rep was just scaring us into doing the Godaddy push to keep the domain with Godaddy.

It's not the 6 figures I always go for but it's a good start in my liquidation this year.

I have more "Coin" and "MENA" domains if anyone is interested. Next one I'm working on I am going for 6 figures for updates follow me on here.

I hope this sale helps others with their keywords.

I hope this sale gains me some exposure for my other domains.

I also hope people will think twice before sending me $100 offers for my domains.

I also hope this Cashier's check clears tomorrow or else I'll have egg on my face.

Anyone know if I can submit this sale with Namebio without providing info on the buyer?

Good luck to everyone else on their future deals!

Edit: Forgot to mention. Prior to meeting buyer.I was late to the meeting because I stepped in dog poop. ( at least I hope it was dog poop although I looked "human" lol) Had to throw out my sneakers and buy flip flops.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
yeah, they killed Gaddafi because he wanted to establish a gold-backed currency in the MENA-region.
Maybe @Avtar629 is lucky that he got rid of his domain :cautious:

Was checking my inventory and coincidentally I regged these this past May.

I agree with you on "Mena" frenzy. Don't go overboard guys.

I did see prior to me selling someone regged Menaex.com from Japan? Interesting.

Also forgot. What is the Middle East and North Africa's main export to the world?

Oil.

Here's one of mine.

OilMena.com
Congrats on this sale and thanks for the inspiration because I just snagged MenaExports.com

Why is CoinMena different from CoinEmea or CoinApac which are available to register ?

MENA = MENA is an English-language acronym referring to the Middle East and North Africa region.
EMEA = EMEA (EMEIA if India is included) is a shorthand designation meaning Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
APAC = Asia-Pacific region

If you register them and sell them for $25k, I want my cut, lol :) You will call me nuts, but I do not see value in them. I think that coinmena was a lucky sale and someone really really wanted it. Congratulations nevertheless :)

Sorry, not gonna hijack the thread. But the thing about APAC is interesting.

https://gomedici.com/top-startups-APAC-cryptocurrency-ecosystem

In this article it says:

Although North America plays a major role in the cryptocurrency ecosystem due to its early adoption of the digital currency, the focus, with respect to the coming years, is on the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. APAC has a significant chunk of the market, with 36% of all participants in the industry, and 27% of the cryptocurrency exchanges. In contrast, North America accounts for 27% of all participants and 18% of transactions. Moreover, owing to factors such as a lower cost of electricity, high penetration of internet access, increased usage of smartphones, and flexibility in the regulatory markets, the emerging APAC markets are considered crucial in the global cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Congratulations. It is really a great sale and you got the real value for the domain name. All the best. Curious to know your 6 figure sale soon.

yea. me too. It's in the travel sector. Got an exact match domain for a brand they are already calling themselves. but.......they don't own the domain.

my domain is plural.

single letter + Two words with last word plural + .com

They own single letter + two words with last word singular+.com yet for some reason they never used it yet.. Theirs was registered 2016. I beat them to the plural version of theirs by 3 months. (Should have gotten the singular one. But I like the plural better.)

They threatened instead to buy an aftermarket one that is a

single letter + single word singular + .com. That was almost 5 months ago. I haven't responded to their offer since and yet 5 months later they still didn't buy the domain they threatened to get instead of my version.

So something tells me despite my six figure ask. They still are waiting if they can or if they will get it. They still haven't gone with the domain they registered nor the one they said they would go for that's a five figure domain. Five figures is their offer to me on my domain.

This is not a domain that a company buys for SEO purposes. It's a domain people buy as their main web address.

i haven't accepted. Holding out as they are already using the brand of which I have the exact match.

I could just again end up having them disappear on me. But that's my gamble.

You gotta love denying a huge company that earns $2 billion in sales yearly what it wants and needs all for the price of a $6 ticket. lol

Win or lose. I enjoy little me stopping something huge.

Reminds me of this.

This above is a domainer in a nutshell vs. some big corporation.
If a potential buyer tries to play chicken with you. Just send them the picture above. Tell them buy or no buy you enjoy being the tiny guy preventing the big guy from making a move or going where they wanna go.

all for the price of a cup of coffee at starbucks yearly.

Well so far nothing, I've not received a reply to my email accepting the offer which doesn't really surprise me but who knows.

I wouldn’t give up hope, you responded just as we headed into the weekend. Keep us posted with any updates and good luck.

Well awesome news, I just got a very large offer $18,888 for the MENA domain I just snagged :)

I'm going to guess that this is someone messing with you, especially with that figure on a domain you just registered. :xf.wink: I hope I'm wrong.

Just wait. I suspect I'll be getting another buyer for my

BlockMena.com
MenaBlock.com
ChainMena.com

But I think CarsMena.com is a good buy too for investment.

Would be great for a website about cars. Targetting a population of 420 million.

Im excited for you. Now when you have a foot in the MENA-market. Building up the network.

I have hopes for my MenaAI.com
AI is getting BIG in Mena. Especially Dubai.

I love the promo material already!

I don't know about these my friend. When I think MENA I think Muslim/Islam. Maybe I'm naive and don't know but to Muslim gambling is "Haram"? Or against religious rules of Muslims?

Although the "NA" part is North Africa and there are casinos in Africa.

I own AfricaOnlineCasino.com
Yeah it's haram. But they find a hole. They make 'online certified' casinos.

3
•••
Well I think it's not a good idea to combine islamic keywords with casino word.

Better you use city + casino, eg dubaicasino, something that is neutral to religion.

@Avtar629 did you have any luck getting it to NameBio and/or DNJournal or where you can't disclose the buyer's name they could not list them?

Would be nice to get the high value MENA sale in a public listing, if possible, but I understand it may not be.

Bob
Interesting you should post this as I just got a reply back from NameBio asking what the requirements are to be listed. Here's the reply I got. I hope this is okay to post.

"Brad,

Thanks for reaching out. We just need to know the domain, price, date and venue, and also see a screenshot showing proof. If you have a portfolio site you can list that as the venue even if it sold somewhere else, or just put Private."

For me I'd like to post some nice old sales and setting up my new portfolio site so just getting back into the game.

Congrats on the sale bud!! Now add a few more to that list of top sales $$$

Congrats on the sale, hope you reinvest wisely, I would love to know who the broker was so I can watch out for those tactics. The broker was going to offer you $8K, and pocket $17K, wow.

Most brokers have an agreement, that they get a certain percentage they can buy the domain under the buyers max offer, but to pocket the full take, and make more than twice the owner, that is harsh, put the name out there, and shake up their game.

Hehe lol. I knew someone was going to ask me that sooner or later but I'm not here to expose anyone or blow up their spot. No my thing just wanted to shed some light on it and that's that. Like I said. I didn't like it but I can respect the hustle. I guess when you are established. You can do whatever you want really and get away with it like just Epstein it. Lol
