This could truly be a big competitor to .COM (especially being a "typo").
I would say with proper guidance .CO could REALLY have a bright future!

These names are not too bad but require serious consideration once it's time for renewals.

Shoulders.co could be a brandable or a domain for a chiropractor. However, Shoulders .com/.net/.org are not developed either.

Stuttering.com/.net.org are all in use, while I would consider .co a less desirable extension, someone could still want to use the domain.

I am still owning 'simulator' and 'vlj' (a three letter multi million product) .co since sunrise but as far as I can recall never had serious inquiries.

The latest 110K domain web usage survey of .co ccTLD is online:

It categorises website usage and development. There's some development activity there but there is a lot of brand protection registrations and external TLD redirects. It is a limited survey of 110,000 .co domains chosen at random and it provides a statistical overview of development in the TLD. In some respects, the .CO cCTLD is doing a lot better than expected but it is not the dotCOM killer that some people expected. People are still registering keyword domains and using them to point to their websites in other TLDs.

TheDomains is reporting that Mobile.co reportedly sold for $238,000...

The domain appears to have changed hands, according to the WhoIS. Chadhi Ghaith was the seller and the new registrant is someone in Australia.

I believe the domain was previously owned by Mike Mann. TheDomains reports it sold in 2010 for $15,000. I have no idea why Mike Mann would have sold it for that low.

It's prudent to own a handful or more .co, from its steep renewal fee. I own 2, and they'll be renewed, as they were the last year or 2.

I have 4. 1 i bought myself in 2010 and the 3 others were from auction. I will keep these 4 a few more years as more people get into business and they cant afford the .com .co looks real good to them as the next thing (these are generics so .net and .org etc are already taken as well)

I have more than you and I guess 60% (no more) of them I will renew - not 100% sure yet.
I was quite successful with them for the last 3 years but last year was not so great as previous ones so maybe its time to move on to something else.

Was always looking for the counts on this domain, not sure if this is new or just missed it in the past but DomainTools has it at 1.8 million - http://www.domaintools.com/statistics/tld-counts/ almost that of .us. Will check it out later this year, next year, see if that takes a dip or not.
