I think it is fair for domain investors to criticize registries for holding back names. Truth is we spend over 6 million in marketing per year so we needed to that in the early days to ensure we remain solvent. After a lot of feedback we announced on this forum a couple of weeks ago that we will no longer be doing that. This is directly related to the fact that our company has hit our goals and no longer requires the revenue generated from the drop. As of Oct. 1st .CLUB will offer an "Open Drop". Not one name will be reclaimed by the registry! Over the last 12 months we have reclaimed millions in inventory which we sell monthly (See our reports) at about 60-100K per month. It's time for the domain investors who support us to get first access now.

.CLUB has identified an issue on the drop. As of Oct. 1st, we intended not to reserve any names, however there was a global block on LLL and NNNN. We are working to remove that block and will release any names that were inadvertently reserved. Keep your eyes open on landrush.club. As you likely know 3 character letters and 4 character numbers have been selling very strong in China in auctions so we recognize the value in letting these names drop and the loss for the registry. We as a registry made the decision to offer an "Open Drop" to allow domain investors to grab the best inventory. This decision came about because of our success to date and our belief that it is important to support the domain investor community. Domain investors are early risk takers and can help get .CLUB names placed in hands of end users.

We apologize for not recognizing this reserved name issue earlier. I met with staff today to ensure that we put these changes in effect over the next few days.
