The end user type sales will happen from registry to end users, although some examples above some guys really found some solid uses, but the registry left very few scraps.

I think mr domain soup was just trying to justify how the registry can ask $130K for data.cloud, there is no real answer other than they outbid amazon and google for .cloud, and need to recoup that capital.

I think they are very sure that it will not be sold for this price now....They are kind of keeping it on hold till the market mature and they may accept good offers less than 130k and preimum pricing gradually as the valuation increase....

This is called price gouging. Actually, they are shooting on their foot by depriving keyword.cloud websites to their clientele. They are not realistic but a bunch of idiots dreaming to walk away with millions overnight.
dotCloud gtld will be history in a year or so... due to their lack of vision!
Hundreds of more gtlds are in the pipeline and once they get rolled out, dotcloud domains will be collecting dust.

Many of these ntld's cost a lot of $$$. They have to find a way to make their money back and then a profit. Giving them away to domainers at reg fee isn't going to get them there.

I had a few domains in auction last night. Forgot to bid over their bid and logged in 12 seconds before it ended. Unfortunately i didn't type my bid and click BID fast enough because i had to visit 4 pages before i could get to the Pre-Reg Auctions on Godaddy. I was a bit pissed to be honest. They were pretty good.
