City + hotels domain names

I have a question about who buys city + hotels domain names. I've seen that those types of names go pretty high $ amounts. Are they bought buy big hotels websites like hotels.com, private investors, hotels in a city, ....?

Most of them are owned by private individuals as developed as directories. They get paid through advertising monthly which can bring huge cash and then they may resell for a higher price later. This is how many of these million dollar transaction are made. Develop, age with traffic and resell.

You'd be very lucky to find one available under $100k for a popular tourist city.
