Does anyone know what a good Chinese pinyin (phonetic) domain name is worth? I'm talking about things like shengyi.com, which is the phonetic version of 'business'.com in Chinese. I don't own it, but am just using it as an example. What would you pay for a good generic Chinese (non-IDN) word?
What I'm really trying to figure out is: what kind of discount, if any, would you put on a Chinese domain. So, for example, if a good generic English language domain sold for $1 million, what do you think the price might be for it's Chinese equivalent?
I realize there are cultural and other economic factors that make comparisons difficult. For example, wallstreet.com sold for $1.03 million a few years ago, and there is no Wall Street per se in China. But all things being equal, what kind of discount would you put on something like the Chinese version of 'business'.com vs. the English version?
As a follow up question, do you know of any big Chinese domain name sales (besides Chinese.com -- which sold for $1+ million recently, but is technically an English domain)?
Thanks
