I was chatting with one of my Chinese friends and here is a summary of the conversation:

Have you ever seen Chinese domains that are completely in Chinese Mandarin? Not just the name, but also the extension?

No, sorry. I think there are companies trying to do that but since people know English no one needs that and the code is different.

What are Chinese people's favorite type of domain, pinyin or English?

Um, both. Sometimes pinyin.

What is their favorite extension com or cn?

COM. Com means you are big. Cn means you are temporary.

They do like cn too though, right?

No. I would prefer com since com means formal.

Do they like net or cn better?

Cn and net give people an idea that it cheap.

Do most Chinese not know about .cn?

Most will know. If you cannot find a .com you can use cn.

Oh...eachnic.com is one too? I didn't know about that but I sure know about the club.tw one. Hehe, more and more chinese are getting into the DN business. I can't believe how much money will flow in this business in the very near future with the increasing popularity..
