Checking #page views and clicks

i'm new to this forum and still pretty new to domaining. Just wondering, is there anyway of checking that whatever parking program you use accurately records the number of page views and clicks? After all, we're putting a lot of trust into the parking program we use.

I just started using Namedrive.

I know that they tell you how many people have visited the site, but I was wondering whether it's possible to check those stats. Or is it the case that when you change the DNS or set up url forwarding that you have no independent way of checking the stats?

You can independly verify page views, but I''m not sure about clicks.

For NameDrive, you can use URL redirect instead of DNS, and use a hosted web page with a hidden frame to capture impressions using services such as Google Analytics or any log analyzer.

I appreciate your reply, but I don't exactly get what you mean. At the moment I've got url forwarding set up, but the hit counter that comes with my registrar (moniker) doesnt record hits, because visits are being forwarded to the NameDrive parking page.

So are you saying that I need a separate domain name with a web page on it to go in between the domain name that I want to record hits for and the parking page? Do I then have to set up 2 lots of url forwarding, the first one going from the original domain to the web page, and the second one going from the web page to the parking page?

Clarification would be great from anyone who knows!

I got it working and I didn't need to add an extra web page (in between domain and parking page). I just needed to host the original domain (which is what winst meant i guess).

Google Analytics is a free web counter and analyzer from Google. I put up a web page with two frames. One hidden frame with Google's code, then another frame forwards to NameDrive.

Google Analytics gives you a very detailed report on all the traffic you get on the web site. I asked NameDrive what can I do if I want a third party such as Google Analytics to analyze the traffic for me and this is what they suggested.
