Hello Everyone,

To remove the clutter and keep .CH domainers together, I feel it's better to have one thread rather than a bunch. So NNNN and LLL will be closed. Currently there are:

0 NNN for hand reg

1380 LLL for hand reg

6992 NNNN for hand reg(when I last checked a while ago).

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddyGoDaddy
.swiss No way. Too limited. And I believe it is restricted.
I made a short research - you are right, .swiss currently is restricted (to swiss community) and no individual registrations allowed.
It may have to do with the past litigation of 'swiss' (Swiss airline*).

*BTW, offtopic
Check out this (one of their) website - really well made: www.world-of-swiss.com

Just a friendly reminder for folks who want to register .CH . Dont register .CH at Godaddy because they won't allow you to move/push the domain within Godaddy. You can only transfer out.

So register at somewhere else if you want FREE push/move to your potential future buyer(s).

@Joe Styler

What is the point of adding .ch to your list of offered names, if you are not friendly about it?
Why would not you make an easy process to push, transfer etc? Seem like other registrars manage it just fine.

Agreed. I had to reg all my .ch at NameCheap because they push like any other extension.

Premium WECHIP or Western premium LLL.ch already in good price. It's now just about non-chip and non-premium.
Jack did ime.ch sell via an auction on SEDO? Can you tell? I just added 88x.ch to my account over there. Thank you.

When a well known Chinese domain broker tells me that .ch is a logical future extension for the Chinese I pay attention and start buying names like "real estate" "wealth" "life insurance" in pinyin etc but each to his own.

We've been adding more and more domains over the past couple years on the GoDaddy management side. On the auctions side we allow people to sell as many names as possible. Providing a safe venue to transact with many potential buyers is important. We have a choice to make, provide a venue to sell domains that can be sold or only sell those we can move (almost all names fit both categories). We look at each on a case by case basis and try and add as many as we can that are able to be sold and requested. We do not want to hinder a seller's ability to sell because we cannot easily move a domain.

Joe, thanks for response. I re-read it, but still very vague.

Specifically, for .ch what are the issues that don't allow Godaddy do what other registrars are doing? Why would not you allow for easy push between GD accounts? There were more issues in this thread regarding transfer problems with .ch at Godaddy as well.

You are forcing your clients to try other venues, while they might have been ok staying with you. What is the point?

Sorry thought you were asking why you could sell domains with .ch on the auction and not easily move them. I am on the auctions side so I answered accordingly. On that all I can say is that we have added many new extensions and continue to add more. I do not know when/if we plan to add easy account pushing for .ch. We do allow some now through an escalation path with support. We continually look at new tlds to add and add according to our ability and customer demand, etc.

Is there someone from GD on NP that is not on auction side?

I have 70+ .ch names with GD and if the issue persists, will transfer them out to a friendlier registrar.

No one to my knowledge. However, I did just give you the non auctions side answer.

Joe, don't want to go in circles, but please raise the issue internally. If there are no restrictions on CH registry side, have someone work on making this process easy.
GD is enjoying good position right now, but it keeps lagging behind competition. In tech world, things can change very fast. Netsol was dominant once and look where it is now.

I will bring it up. Also remember you have an account representative who is your advocate and can answer any questions or issues you have as well with us.

I do have an account rep, but lately issues don't get resolved. I never heard back on mawx.com auction and why the name did not get transferred, what measures were taken against seller etc. I still cannot access GD home page via Chrome, I still get bunch of bugs with GD interface.

.Ch issue also cannot be resolved only on my side. The value of .ch names are affected by perceived ease of transaction.

But I always appreciate your responsiveness. You are a great asset for GD )

@Joe Styler

If you could look into clear, concise answers to these three questions it would be great:

1. Can .ch domain names be pushed from one GD account to another?
2. If not, is there a target date when this functionality will be implemented?
3. What are the steps with the "Escalation Process", as registrants of .ch domains through GoDaddy desperately need a simple process by which .ch domains can be pushed the same as .com, etc.

Many domain investors have large portfolios registered through GoDaddy and want to keep all their registered domains under one roof so to speak. The ability to Begin Account Change on .ch domains is an issue we hope is resolved as soon as possible.

Thanks

P.S. I've noticed that .online domains registered on special are not eligible for GoDaddy auctions. Is that a bug or is there some reason behind that?

Same goes for .IO, can't sell those through auction either.

I had to make a separate GD account so that I could sell my .CH/.CZ domains in a bundle because this transfer out is a pain, pushing should be allowed for any Godaddy domains. I could understand if it was a brand new gtld or cctld and some kinks had to get worked out, but .CH is 19 years old and there's 2 million of them registered. It ranks along the lines of .co, .cc, .xyz, .club in terms of popularity so it should be just as easy to transfer.

I've transferred .ch domains out of Godaddy due to this issue.

Same with .cz you can't do account change at Godaddy.
