Hello Everyone,

To remove the clutter and keep .CH domainers together, I feel it's better to have one thread rather than a bunch. So NNNN and LLL will be closed. Currently there are:

0 NNN for hand reg

1380 LLL for hand reg

6992 NNNN for hand reg(when I last checked a while ago).

Here is some feedback from Namecheap support regarding transfers/push of .CH.

I'd like to let you know that transfers of .ch domains are not currently supported by our system.
So transfers in can't be done through their normal automated transfer checkout system.

However, we can submit a transfer order manually for you. For me to proceed with it, please provide the domain in question.
If you want to transfer a .ch to Namecheap, you have to contact their support to do it.

The transfer cost will be $14.99. Please note if there are more than 30 days to expiration date the transfer will be free of charge and your .ch domain will not be renewed.
So it's free to transfer there, unless you are within 30 days of expiry.


Domain push from one Namecheap account to another:

If you wish to move a .ch domain name from one account to another, you do not need to contact support. You can do it in the following way https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/1187/8/how-can-i-transfer-a-domain-from-one-namecheap-user-to-another-namecheap-user

A .ch domain push seems to be the same at Namecheap as it is for other domain extensions.

It looks like it's a little easier to push .ch domains between accounts at Namecheap, at Godaddy you should be able to do it by initiating a free domain transfer. After looking at this, it's not as bad as I thought to move .ch domains around, just a tiny bit of extra work required. Best part is the transfer process is free.

I've been thinking about how to sell my .ch and .cz domains, and I think the easiest way if you want to bulk sell them is to perhaps just sell the account your registered at and move your other domains to a new account that can be pushed without any cost. Thoughts on this?

oh, well your lucky then lol. GD is stupid when it comes to .CH and .CZ, can't push even to another GD account. So it might entice buyers if I just hand over the account with the domains. Not selling any yet, but just going to prep the account.

I think namecheap also provide push option for .ch

So I sold a .ch here on NP, having trouble transferring it to the buyer. It's at Godaddy and the buyer tried to initiate the transfer at Godaddy and it gave an error message. So not even sure you can do a transfer from Godaddy to Godaddy for .ch domains.

Their next option is to contact Namecheap support and try to get them to manually transfer it there.

Good to be finding all these things out. I called Godaddy support and they said everything was good on my account side to do the transfer, so not sure why this is such a problem.

For .CZ at Godaddy, you can't push obviously, but to transfer the buyer has to pay for an extra year renewal. If a .CZ gets sold a few times a year those renewals will add up for it. Kind of crazy where it could go if the domain changes hands many times.

Just shows that being able to easily push or transfer a domain extension is a good feature to have.

Thanks for the info, it sounds real frustrating. Hence why I'm likely just going to change over to a new GD account and sell my old one off with all 58 NNN.CH and 20 NNN.CZ. Whoever gets it can either keep them in the GD account of transfer them at their own convenience.

For fun, I just did a transfer of one of my .ch from Godaddy to Namecheap.

I had to go through Namecheap Live Support and give them the domain and Auth Code.

Then I had to top up my account with $14.99 for the transfer. They say if the domain is more than 30 days from expiry, the amount will be refunded after the transfer is complete.

The transfer should take less than 24 hours they said. That's was it, everything done through the live support.

This will be my first .ch domain in Namecheap, once it's there I'll see if the ownership change feature (push) is available for it. If so, I may transfer most of my .ch to Namecheap because it makes it so much easier to sell them if I need to.

Forgot, I also had to give the support my Namecheap ID and PIN number.

Hello,

Recently, you contacted our Live Chat support regarding the transfer of ------.ch domain name to Namecheap. Feel free to use Chat ID xxx-xxxx-xxxxx for reference.

We are happy to inform you that we have successfully submitted the transfer of the domain name in question for you. At the moment the transfer status of the domain is "Awaiting release from previous registrar". This transfer status means that there are not known issues at this time, the transfer is processing as normal. The domain name is in the process of transferring to Namecheap and the losing registrar is in the process of releasing the domain name.

Usually it takes up to several hours for .ch domain name to be transferred ( in rare cases it may take up to 24 hours).

Please rest assured that we are monitoring the transfer of the domain name and will let you know as soon as we have any updates.

Success in transfer of .ch from Godaddy to Namecheap!

This might be the way to go if you plan to sell a .ch you have at Godaddy, transfer to Namecheap first so you can push to the buyer.

There's still 1307 LLL.CH left. Funny how on ExpiredDomains every LLL.CH drop gets registered right away. If only those buyers knew about the actual remaining 3L list. They would go pretty quick.
