Centralnic has announced that they will be “sunsetting” several of their SLD based extensions.

The impacted extensions are:

• .AR.COM
• .GB.COM
• .HU.COM
• .KR.COM
• .QC.COM
• .NO.COM
• .SE.COM
• .UY.COM

CentralNIC has lost control of domains in the past. Kevin Murphy (DomainIncite) wrote about it in The Register.

Yes its an absolute scandal there are thousands of GB.com registrations affected and many other businesses will face huge transition and marketing costs.

Do not deal with this company lawsuits will surely follow they are stealing domains from registrants.

Besides, they admitted there are 'very few' domains registered and even fewer developed sites lol.

There are thousands of GB.com regstered domains that will be affected, the point is that this company claimed to be selling you a domain name that was secure for life so long as you renewed. They charged high prices and then just think they have the right to delete the websites that is unethical.

of active websites) using these extensions,

I wonder what the plan is after April next year. Sell these 2 letter .COMs?
