This may not be news for those in Europe, but many of us who live in other parts of the world, will find this interesting. .com is important but for local business , the local cctlds are vital.

The new CENTR TLD Report shows the following in Europe.

"Market share of ccTLDs in European countries ranges from 16% to 79%, with an average of 54%*. These figures include gTLDs as well as other European ccTLDs registered from within the country. When aggregated across 37 countries in the European region, ccTLD domain registrations make up 58% of the entire market. Legacy gTLDs make up 39% and the new gTLDs make up 2.4%."

Living here in the US, domain experts tend to focus on .com and ngtlds, which is really missing the point, because cctlds are the future of most countries outside the US.
