Hello, i am thinking about setting up a local registrar for my area and im wanting to know which is the best reseller for .com.au domains. The reseller account must be easy to use and customizeable and has the cheapest prices.

If anyone has any recommendations please post here.

Thanks

Morgan

netim.eu registrar?

Does anyone here have any experience with Netim.eu (netim.co.uk, netim.ch)

They have great prices for european cctld's but I'm not sure if they're 100% reliable. Does anyone know anything about them?

Thanks :)

i never heard about them. 6€ for a .eu looks a nice price (althought i dont like .eu). I know another spanish registar (dondominio.com) wich price for .eu is 7,95, a little bit more but they are quite reliable

in addition, i've checked their prices and they are just a little bit cheaper than other registars

If you just want a few names (or if you really trust the person), you can always get a Canadian citizen to register the domains and hold them in their account for you.

One of my best fren is born in canada but now residing in Malaysia.
Issit possible to ask her open a godaddy account n buy .ca names?
coz will be paying by credit card that is applied in malaysia not canada.

Your friend can reg if he/she kept their Canadian citizenship. As long as they are Canadian citizens they can reg .ca's no matter where they live. They also have to be of the age of majority for the Province in which the last resided.

Province Age of Majority

Alberta 18
British Columbia 19
Manitoba 18
New Brunswick 19
Newfoundland and Labrador 19
North West Territories 19
Nova Scotia 19
Nunavut 19
Ontario 18
Prince Edward Island 18
Quebec 18
Saskatchewan 18
Yukon Territories 19

The simple fact of the matter is that they will be reg'd in your friends name, not your's and you will have no recourse should your "friend" decide to keep them for themselves. Just something to think about.

Good advice Len.

As for those companies offering local presence - I've yet to see actual legalese or plain English that says that is actually allowed. If someone has a definitive answer please let me know! I asked CIRA via email and all I got was an answer to a question I didn't ask - three times...

early renewal for some ccTLDs ???

A rep at Moniker just told me some ccTLDs must be renewed at least 2 months prior to exp date - or you will lose them. Is this true? If so, which of the following does this apply to:

.cc
.co.uk
.de
.in
.tv
.us
.ws

I have names in all of these ccTLDs coming up for renewal in the next few months. So any clarification on this would be much appreciated!

From the ones I have, .de has to be done earlier
than the expiry date.
.cc goes right to the expiry date, but I think the
redemption is shorter (can't remember)
.in goes right to the expiry date, and regular
redemption period.

Anyone know about the others? Is there somewhere I can go to get this info?

I have renewed a bunch of .cc and .ws domains the day they expire, but they were not at moniker, but I doubt the policy is that much different.

Why wait 'til the last minute? I renew 6 months to 4 years early. I personally am not interested in losing something I lease.
I see several posters a year 'crying' because they waited to long and lost their lease. Some kept the domain after paying a premium 'redemption fee'.

you can preset .co.uk to auto-renew, and it is looking likely a 'lock state' will be in place soon.

She is 22 years old so i guess its fine.
Well that is the risk i am willing to take.at least the risk is with my fren rather than a reseller that i dont know.
Thank you so much for all the info!
