Hey everyone! What do you think about .cc tld? I requested for appraisal on NP about my domain "Wildlife.cc" and nobody was interested to appraise it.. :D probably the domain is not usable to the end user? ;)

can domains with .cc tld sold easily? How's the market for such TLDs?

Any insight about it will be helpful. :)

Thanks,
Sky

Bad.

I was once able to sell a .cc to a funded startup that had a domain like get[[startupname]]app.com.

I was like "hey, your users are going to need to share links and [[startupname]].cc is shorter and won't take up so many twitter characters.

I got very lucky.

You should have a strong generic one word or very high volume keyword search to sell .cc
For example I have sold bikini.cc on Sedo before about 6 months for $350.
Good luck.

Yes, but the point of the story is, if you pitch a direct benefit to owning the domain to the end user, you have a better shot at selling the domain. Think about how wildlife.cc could help a real company out and then go find that company.

Whoa, off-topic but i'm about to put bikini . ws for sale today and that was the number I had in my head.

I am seeing more and more .cc in actual use -- on billboards, mostly -- so it's a ccTLD to watch, especially as ccTLDs become more known.

But only the best keywords will be valuable.

I have had a high $XXX offer on a .cc, but it's a top keyword.

Bad most of the time. Number .cc and one word .cc may be good. Just depends.

I still own Fee (Dot) cc & € (dot) cc (Grandfathered in). Gotten XXXX offers, but aint selling unless its a really big offer.

I sold pokeronline.cc for $2500 and used to be able to buy dropped LLL.cc domain names on GoDaddy whenever I took the time to look in the Bargain Bin. I think the LLL.cc is becoming a big draw for Chinese buyers. I get inquiries and offers in the low $xxx for LLL.cc domains at least once every two weeks.

You should take those offers IMO.

For .cc I think the only ones worth investing in are strong one word domains, like Casino.cc or similar. Otherwise, there is a big Chinese market right now for NNN.cc and NNNN.cc domains.

I was able to get MutualFund/cc in GD expiration -- is no one interested or is no one watching? Anyway, I put it up for 30-day auction at Flippa. If that doesn't have value then .cc may only be good for LLL and the like.

I like it but I don't currently own any.

You should take those offers IMO.

As the euro sign is found in pretty much every European keyboard by default, IMO its worth 5 figs. Fee on the other hand I probably would sell if I got an offer in the mid xxxx. I can afford to be patient ;)

I learned my lesson after selling US.CC to RJ back in the day for quick cash. He then reflipped it to another buyer for substantially more.

Yes, I sold a few .cc for profits years ago, but I wouldn't invest another dime in them now that it's 2015.

Chinese buyers keep making offers on Sedo. Too bad it always starts off with the obligatory minimum sedo offer.

Glad to see your still around RJ.

Edit: Typical lowball Chinese offers

never liked this one personally. I've always felt the hack it to mean creditcard.... so something like platinum.cc might be good.

I personally like .cc. I own a few short-keywords dot cc. From the research I've done, I see that Chinese supposedly love them..."Chinese Company" "China Company" etc...

Chinese love the .cc extension but only for short letter/number combinations up to 4 characters long.

I see some really good name/keyword.cc's drop all the time on Godaddy Auctions. I feel .cc is the best extension in terms of saving you time typing on a keyboard. Is there any extension that is easier? All you have to do is type .cc and is therefore easier and quicker to type than .com, .co, and all other tlds I can think of.
