Nice write up Bob, I have a grand total of 3..... Rare - had a few offers/price requests Romania - couple of offers Scroll
Great analysis, Bob. Thank you! I have a few one-word .cc names that may do well in the coming years: Mend, Reap, Toggle. This is certainly a versatile extension. The fact that it's owned by Verisign (+ the reasonable price) can only help in the long run.
Nice article. I have trainer.cc and Edward.cc and a couple of others. I have also sold some CC names, but that was sometime ago.
^^^ Still the best sig of any profile on any forum... ever. ^^^ hmmm, now let me think, what could those two have in common? Peace, Kenny
I cant see myself buying any .CC domains, they may have some value eventually but I cant see them going for to high a price
Really appreciate the article, Bob! I have just one. It's a strong keyword but the problem is that it's on sale in a ton of extensions: > driverless dot cc
Great post Bob! I'm friends with the founder of .cc and was one of his master resellers back in the late 90s. This is like a blast from the past for me...I had an incredible ride on the .cc train! My company sold well over $750K in hand reg'd .cc names via our reseller platform. I also owned lots of really amazing single word .cc domains. The problem was the aftermarket on them in the early days was darn right lousy, so I let them all go by 2003 due to the pricey cost of renewing them 😫. Based on today's prices, I unfortunately missed out on hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits. This was my reseller site: https://web.archive.org/web/20020331103905/http://www.ccnames.cc/. I still own the toll-free number though LOL! Oh well, you live and learn. PS...Just grabbed my original reseller name; ccnames.cc. only $5.99 Love it! LOL!
Wow! Thanks so much for your insights from the early days, Rich. Had no idea so much interest back then. Were renewal costs higher back then? Now they are not much different than .com. Were most of the registrations back then to Asia, or pretty well spread around the world. It is great having your long term perspective. Bob
My pleasure Bob! The renewal was $100, minimum two years. I was also involved with the .LA extension when it first launched. My company handled all of the inbound telephone sales for the registry and I was instrumental in securing multiple joint marketing ventures such as Clear Channel Communications. That JV resulted in major sales for .LA.
