I recently "sold" advertises.eu for $400 via ebay but i have not completed the deal yet and today I received an offer of 250 euros on sedo. I was wondering if i should hold onto this name as ive had 3 offers already since 7th april. Should i counter the sedo offer at something like 500? I dont really know what to do as i think it will only appreciate in value. Another member said it could be worth about 10,000 in years to come. I am not struggling for money at the moment so i am kinda in two minds what to do.

Please help :yell:

Well if the auction has finished at ebay you entered into a legally binding contract and you "have" to sell,Unless the buyer does not pay or he does not complete the payment.

as for the 10,000 appraisal that was his/her opinion but it will be a long wait before you get that amount imho or even close to it.

I'd sell to the buyer from ebay and be done with it.

$400 sounds good for that name.

And if you go the other way and in afew weeks come back and say i sold it for $2000 via sedo we'll all know you broke your deal at ebay.

And that (people knowing what you done) is worse than selling the name elswhere when you already had a deal.

I highly advise that you not piddle around w/ the Sedo offer after you have, already, made a sale on eBay and if you did, I wouldn't broadcast that you were going to go that route here. People reading this will form opinions about your character that I would not want to be associated w/ if it were me. You've already sold the name for more than what the Sedo offer less commission is going to garner you. $400 is more than generous for the name and it is doubtful that you will do better than that, IMHO. I would, however, leave the Sedo offer open and have it as a back-up until after you receive payment and close the ebay transaction.

This isn't a game. You make a commitment and you follow through unless there are extenuating circumstances. The other party has made a good faith offer to buy the name and has a rightful expectation that he has purchased the name. Going to Sedo and playing around to see if you can milk the name for a few more bucks in just unethical- plain and simple.

Yes but if you counter and the intrested party accepts that offer your'e into 2 legally binding contracts.

Sell the name to the first buyer before he see's this thread and moves on.

I'd have it removed if i were you (this thread)

I totally agree with this.
If you have made an agreed sale on ebay and afterwards not carry it through, then I would say you lack ethical principles. Do you really want to be known as a dishonest ebay seller? (and BTW a bad member of NP)

didnt mean to be like that :)

I am not that experienced still so i still need to learn. I have cancelled the sedo offer on the name and i will sell to the ebay guy.

Please dont publicly linch me when i was only asking for advice as i think that is totally unfair
