OK, so the Iowa Caucases were tonight.
Clear winners were Obama and Huckabee.
From the Democratic side, Obama was the very clear winner, with Edwards showing right now to be a strong second, but Hillary could be a contender as well. That will be decided in New Hampshire. The strongest ticket is likely an Obama/Edwards ticket right now for the dems.
For the Republicans, Huckabee is the clear winner with Romney next and surprisingly Thompson as third over Rudy. Huckabee, as much as he is out there comes off as "Republican, but with values and an opinion" much the same as Romney, but they both pull it off. They counter the Republican norm and will be a strong force to contend with as a combined ticket. Which I bet right now is what they will be.
Back to the dems......This is Iowa, Hilary didn't stand a chance. We are talking serious farmer country. No self-respecting farmer would nominate a woman, let alone a dem woman. So the corn growers were left with Edwards and Obama, and they went with Obama. From what I saw, there was a huge female turnout, as compared to the last time I did this.
My prediction:
New Hampshire:
Romney will win there over Huckabee, but they will team for the ticket with Romney as President and H as the VP.
Edwards will win over Obama here, and they will team for he ticket. Look for some wrangling to see who will hold the first place position.
