Well it's just about tax time again
I've searched for hours on the net as well as asking my accountant and I just can't get a definitive answer on how to treat my profits. For me, just writing them down is NOT an option. I don't feel like paying the taxman $X,XXX more than I should.
My question is really whether domain names are considered taxable income. My hypothesis is that if they are, they must be considered capital (i.e. an asset), in which case I fully intend on writing off every single domain name I own, every single domain name I've realized a loss on, etc.
This seems fair to me at least -- it should work both ways right? So without boring you any longer... Do I need to go through all this trouble or are domain names treated differently in Canada than in the U.S. ?
