Can I still renew this expired domain?

Hello,

I was hoping someone could tell me wether I would still be able to renew a .net domain name that expired on the 5th of july.

My domain name registrar account says that the domain has been 'cancelled', although I think that may just be a generic notice to say I missed the official renewal date.

My name is still in the 'whois' information.

I've submitted a support ticket asking them wether renewal is still possible, but I thought I'd ask here to be sure.

if the status in whois is:
- "expired", you can renew it usually with no penalty
- "redemption period" - you can renew it with a penalty
- "pending delete" - nothing you can do except for trying to catch it (i.e. re-register) when it is released

I think the domain was still in expiry. The reply to the support ticket I issued with my registar gave me a link to pay for the domain at the same cost as usual.

You can still renew it within the first 30 days after the expiration date. As a courtesy, we keep the domain for that time, but it will not be usable.

Try to renew is always easy, just go to your registrars domain control page and simply renew. Even if your domain is deleted but not taken buy someone else, you can just register it again. If text TAKEN or UNAVAILABLE appears, you screwed..
