Hi there,
I have my site hosted on a really fast server and the last site was really fast, this time iv experimented with abit of web 2.0 abit of AJAX and ruby on rails ect.. And, the website i a little bit slow.


Any ideas?

A URL will help. You said you were using RoR, from my experience RoR does seem to slow down the loading a little bit though.

And just a few general tips to speed things up use less images, write cleaner code, if you have tons of tables.. it will take longer to render the page.

My guess would be he is refering to the website in his sig, it appears to be using AJAX and RoR.

yes, to change them to a better web hosting :D, btw just make litter website with less code and will be better

Sadly this is true for the initial load if the server is running rails as fast_cgi... Once past the initial load though, things float really well!

I dont think there is anything you can do but to use small sized things with in the page
