I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on how I can speed up the loading time on my business site: http://splinterfreelance.com

There are some code errors I need to fix so it validates, but I dont think that is the problem. Im assuming the best place to start is reduce the file size of my images, but what to do next?

Thanks for your help,

Sam :)

Including hte new winodw it loads in about 2 seconds for me... Then again I have a downstream of close to 40MBPS right now. I would suggest looking at the file type for that image. It is in mostly just shades of two colors. Maybe you should go back into photoshop and set it up as a Duotone?

I don't see anythin gelse other than that...

Are you sure it's not on a slow server? The code is clean, except for a couple of errors in the forms, so that isn't it - and the image isn't too big, either.

I'd look at the server with suspicion.

It could be my server, but for the most part it is rarely slow.

Can I ask what errors in the form you noticed?

Your site loads fast for me. :)

It loaded quite fast for me. It loaded right away with no lag. I have noticed that your image files, at least the header, are jpgs. This will tremendously slow down the load time. Try to make them pngs or gifs. Also, cutting down on JS will make it load faster as well. JS has a way of bugging down a site. Checking with your server administrator could also be a help.
