.mobi Can I ask PayPal question here because I am going to pay for .mobi

HI!

I post this to here just because I would like to get the answer and pay the money to the seller ASAP.I am going to pay to another NP member for .mobi using my paypal. I am waiting for my US bank account verified by Paypal but there are some days passed, the verification still not done yet. So I would like to pay now but I have questions.

Actually I used paypal many times before. but I never checked the paypal fee. This time I would like to understand the paypal fee. I am always confused by these question:

1: My paypal is Premium account , so due to paypal policy, I might only be charged paypal fee when I sold something. but why sometimes I was charged paypal fee even I purchased ?

2: If there is no balance in my paypal, but I have connected my palpal to my bank account and credit card, so that means every time no mather I purchase or sell, I will always be charged paypal fee ?

3: There is no banlance now in my paypal account, If I pay the seller using my paypal now, Do I need to pay extra fee ? (I only have Canadian bank account available in my paypal).

1. i think you're confused. when were you charged a paypal fee for sending money? are you talking about the seller simply adding the fee to your total amount?

2. see above.

3. you are never charged a fee for sending money. explain when this has happend to you... and what country are you in? you might just be talking about currency conversion rates.

About 1: I just remember this one: I am the reseller of DirectI, each time when I added fund to my DirectI account, I was charged paypal fee. for this case, I am the buyer not the seller, right ?

about 3: So you mean I only need to pay extra money for conversion ?

oh, yes i know what you mean about DirectI charging a fee to deposit money into your reseller account. that is legal for them to do because they're based out of India.

but no, you do not normally add the paypal fee to payment unless the seller requests this... sometimes they do.

the conversion rates will be done automatically.. you dont have to worry about that.. i just wasnt sure what you meant at first.

I can not wait the paypal verify, now I am going to pay the seller, still use my paypal , but the money will be converted from Canadian to US.

the namepros will be offline in April 30 ~ May 1, so I wish the seller can read my PM soon. I have notified him .

well hopefully they'll understand the whole "forum going down" situation. either way, as long as they haven't already given you the domain and you pay relatively promptly (the next week would be nice) then you should be fine.
