Hey guys im really new and noticed that there isn't many .ca domains around any reason for this?

Only Canadian Citizens, Canadian residents or Canadian companies are allowed to register .ca domains.

.ca is quite popular for products/services where the only end users are Canadians.

Most multinational companies will use .ca for their Canadian sites.
