Can anyone give me a tip or a guide on how to transfer a domain over? Never done a change like this before.

During the transfer, will my site be down?

Also, after I pay at NameCheap or Moniker or DS, what do I need to do at the RF side to have it transferred?

Thats right, what ever you do, dont panic.
I have had domains with registras that have folded before, they were resellers though.
All I had to do was give details of another account with another registra and all my names were pushed there.
this may be a bit diferent because registerfly is no longer a reseller.
In this case Icann will take charge if they have not already.
The one important thing is to have your details as the registrant.
Then you can get the domain back, no matter what they have done to you account.
You got to watch em
I have only recently completed restoring nearly all the domains in my registerfly account back to my correct info after having registrant and email contact info changed to registerfly after a website update several months ago.
I know a lot of people are not keen on enoms reg costs, but a push to enom is the safest bet if you dont want to ride out the storm at registerfly. Enom has helped me to save many domains over the years from crooked registras.
My resellers account with enom only costs $8.99 for renewal or transfer and you don't have to actually sell domains to have one.

how do I get an auth code from RF for a .net - I am transfering the only one I care about a little to GD... I have entered the GD codes... how do I get the RF one??... I just can't see it :gl:

If you are lucky you'll find the auth. code at the bottom of the "configure contacts" page for your domain.

aww shoot! now it says "Invalid Auth Code".... I cut and pasted it too! Tried it 3 times!
