Buying Expired Traffic Domains ?

Hello,

I have a couple questions reguarding Expired Traffic Domains and I would like to see what other's use to guage on what to buy and what not to buy?

Alexa Ranked? is this something to use gauging traffic to a domain? Here are a couple examples, that confuse me! I purchased these two domains.

Amazdaq.com Alexa Ranked 3,890,596 Get's about 175 Uniques Per Day

Kutuphane.Biz Alexa Ranked 1,259,156 Get's about 5 Uniques Per Day

Now in reguards to looking at Alexa's Ranking, you would think that Kutuphane.Biz would be the better of the Two! It's not as you can See!

Link Popularity?

Neither of the domains have much if any Backlinks (above domains), but I'm sure Link Popularity plays a decent role in traffic as well.

NFLlinks.com 3,258 BackLinks PR5 15 Uniqes per day!
NetEdge.org 1,966 BackLinks PR4 5 Uniqes per day!

PR Google Page Rank? Does this make a differance in guaging traffic?

I think the best way is Overture with ext, but that is not always the way to guage traffic. ie Amazdaq.com has an Ov of 0 and it get's 175 uniqes per day!

I just wanted to see what other thought of this.

the only true way to gauge traffic is to see past traffic over a long period of time (a year at least) and even that is not entirely reliable.

You can add all these factors together to get a good idea, but Page Rank and Alexa are perhaps the least important of all.

The number of backlinks is not as important as the quality of those links.

I am still trying to make sense of all of this myself. If I had to guess, Ekal's post about seeing past the first year, and then what your intent may be for the domain.

Do you plan to sell ad space? (Alexa Ranking)

Increase page rank by linking to your other domains? (Google page rank/Alexa)

Ppc and adsense revenues Income (Uniques keywords$=conversion)

Extention? (.com reigns supreme, but a popular key word, or generic term will add value--clever variations like pen.is are in a category in themselves)

To resell? (Depending on the end user a combination of all these factors or just one)
