Budweiser has changed its Twitter profile picture to that of a rocket ship designed by NFT artist Tom Sachs.

The beer company has also purchased the Beer.eth domain name for 30 ether (ETH, -3.76%), or roughly US $95,000.

Richard Oppy, vice president of global brands at Budweiser's parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, told CoinDesk last month the beer brand is investing in a new NFT media shop run by internet entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk.

The shop, touted as a β€œlong-term business play” by beer company executives, will see Budweiser's, including other beer brands', intellectual property packaged and sold as NFTs.

These companies are desperate to pump up the hype on anything. I thought these companies were supposed to be busy "changing the world" and "ridding it of all injustice" now. Must be that virtue online is losing its shine, onto the next flavour of the month, the next hype train to ride...

Isn’t this the same brand that changed their name to β€œAmerica” for one year and it flopped

β€œA” for effort. Who doesnt love America?
Lol, all jokes aside, it was an awkward rebrand much like this β€œpromotion”

Must have been quite the party for the seller. Budweiser can only hope that this move turns out to be a smart one and pays off for them. At least we can all go buy beer NFTs now, what a win! :xf.wink:

There's got to be a "whisky dot eth" coming up (Jack Daniels, something trendy)

(Lager dot eth probably not as good as beer dot eth)

Meanwhile they could've purchased .beer and have bought something of real value. It's not like AB InBev doesn't have the funds... Maybe they've been tasting a tiny bit too much of their own poison :)

Seriously though, not a bad marketing move.
