EDIT: Here's the text from that page:

NASA is planning to make a huge announcement today, about possible life in our own solar system.

Exact details of what we can expect to hear have not been released. We do know that evidence has been found that could point to life relatively close to the earth.

Official word is expected this afternoon at 2 p.m.

Nope, it was on News 13 (The link at the top). I watched it.

They found running water on a moon that orbits around Saturn. They will know more when the statellite returns there again in November.

But it's not a hoax. ;)

I guess they're reporting now that the Fla. station misinterpreted their news release and there has been no life found, just the presense of water which indicates only the "possibility" of life.. still an important discovery because the presense of liquid water is considered essential to life anywhere.

That station had alot of coverage going on it; which was better than hearing a broken record like it normally is. Some of the video they are showing is really cool. Sept and Nov they have a something going close to it again and will get more pictures and information.

Ummm, I wonder how many 'Enceladus' and saturn domains got snapped up today.

Seems kinda dumb that they think there has to be water for there to be life. If there was life out there, there would be no way that anyone could live there being that far from the sun unless they were a different species. And that species might not need water...

Just a thought

Exciting nonetheless, even tho there's been speculation about this for years...

This is funny because just yesterday I was watching Naked Science on the National Geographics Channel and they had a special on this same exact topic. They predicted other life-forms wouldn't be found till 2025. I hope this possible life-form is intelligent.

Edit: Nevermind, just water. Old news. There was always speculation, because of the surface of Enceladus (one of Saturn's moons) looking just like the surface of our Arctic Circle.

I think the discovery of any life outside our planet will force us to utterly redefine alot of our notions, including fundamentalist religious views. For me, knowing without a doubt that life exists elsewhere as well as here will wipe that smug elitist grin off my face.. suddenly, I won't feel so special anymore. ;)

Definitely not a hoax. Water doesn't necessary mean that there is life but it can be an indication that life is certainly possible. There are forms of life in some pretty harsh areas of our own planet so it's a bit early to write off any life on another planet or moon.

I thought about registering a few but didn't. As of late this afternoon all saturn/Enceladus were still available but that maybe from whois being updated.
