It's hard to pinpoint the sell thru rate because inventory is always growing. But we can get pretty good idea based on some facts. I have kept records on BB's inventory growth so I know that:
- Since Sept 2014 BB inventory has grown at a rate of 938 domains per month.
- In March 2016 BrandBucket had 27,498 domains on their website.
So let's add 3 months (3 X 938 = 2,814) to 27,498 and we get 30,312 domains. That is the approximate inventory on BB in June 2016 (midway thru the year) 30,312. Let's count this as the average inventory for the year since later in the year the inventory was higher and earlier in the year it was less. Both by equal amounts
In 2016 they sold 1017 domains.
1017 divided by 30,312 = .0335.
That means they sold approximately 3.35% of their inventory in 2016
Which is what we call the sell thru rate.
Every seller should do what is best for them.
The should sell their domains in a way that generates the most sales, income and profits.
BrandBucket may not be right for you.
Whatever platform(s) or methodologies works best, that is the one you should employ.
Wishing everyone continued success and prosperity!
