I removed all my names from BrandBucket as of 2 days ago. I had given my 30 day notice a little over a month ago. Sales had just become too slow for me.

In the end, I had a 1.9% sell-through rate over 2.5 years there, but more like a 0.9% or so rate over the past year.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder if other BB sellers are leaving as well...

Will you be using Efty instead or something else if you don't mind me asking?

My overall sell-through rate for a little over 2 years is currently 0.89%. Over 250 names listed.

I'll be using Undeveloped landers as well as putting all the domains in Afternic. I'll also be (attempting to) sell off most of the ~800 names at Dropcatch.

My overall sell-through rate for a little over 2 years is currently 0.89%. Over 250 names listed.

With my names, which tended to have lower BB suggested prices, I figured I needed a 0.7% sell-through rate just to cover renewals, so I view any rate that's too near that number as problematic.

Yes, I'm not feeling excited about my rates either. I'm making my plans and considering different options. Will probably wait a bit longer to gather some additional data and then take the next steps.

It's so useful to have some other sellers' insights. Thanks for sharing.

Shocking news to be honest. You are one of the last members I thought would leave BrandBucket. I have a feeling your negative experience will open the floodgates for BB members that have been sitting on the fence wondering what they should do.

Brandbucket - exclusive right to sell listings only.

Brandbucket - exclusive right to sell listings only.
You should read back on this thread earlier this past year to learn about the situation and entire “program”. Thankfully to several members here on NP postings willing to share real data and real experiences I learned enough about it, and removed my names, and have not wasted any more time and money on this saturated marketplace site and brandables.

Most of the brandables at brandbucket seem to be the made up or misspelled words and those aren’t my bag anyway.

But my statement was pejorative - that brandbucket demands an exclusive right to sell is part of why I don’t currently list with them.

So there’s nothing I need to “learn” if I’m already intimating that I am not in favor of brandbucket. You do know what “exclusive right to sell” means? or why would you make such an off the wall comment.

I think *you* exclusively need to check your ego at the keyboard before typing. Since you clearly know everything about domaining, I made the mistake of responding to something you posted. I watched your nonsense with Domaingang on the other thread and should have known better.

Just wondered why you'd ask me to check on why brandbucket is not so good, when I was already posting about that they aren't so good because they require exclusive right to sell.

Appy polly loggies if I jumped the gun.

So if there is a mass exodus, what will happen in your opinion?

I think that Efty, undeveloped and the other personal marketplaces have affected them..but probably in the end they will still have a marketplace, just that it will be much smaller and not that much of a leader for brandables. Being smaller it's not necessary a bad thing, less headache and sometimes bigger ROI.

I'f noticed that another ex vip BB seller, AndrewRice/brandiogo has specialized in the 399-799$ brandables, a few other vip sellers have their marketplaces, so it's a new trend. In some ways, if you learn how to bring the customers to you, it could do you good.

Good luck, Nat!

How many did you have there?

Man, I just put my first name on there the other day and they listed it at $7,995. You guys are scaring me here haha.

I'll let it ride for a bit I guess, but I'd honestly take a fraction of that for the name with a smile. I feel like they may have priced me out of potential buyers in a way.

Continued success, lower inventory and greater sell through rate for those who stay. I think they have SEOed themselves to the top and will continue. Those who have thousands of names will stay and buy up more names for increased inventory for themselves. The “chosen ones” and evangelists will continue to have even more success and the edge of their insider search stats to determine what end users are buying, faster sales lead responses to sell their names with direct negotiations. They will also enjoy to rank position to appear at the top of their search results similar to paid google advertisers. A few domainers will drop their names and the inside trading cartel database will be used to scoop up expired names that were listed before to relist themselves. The business will be run more like a private company or limited partnership as it should have been in the first place.

Ironically, sell-through rate would go up :ahhh:

Thanks. I had 804 names there at the end.

Interestingly, the name they rejected turned out to be blessing in disguise ) They sell even better and with less commission for me )

804 would be a considerable loss for them. I was looking for a name to buy there and had to weed through so much trash, including meaningless double-lettering (double-littering?)...
