99% of end users wouldn't know what an escrow company is.

A buyer would feel more comfortable buying from BB from a valuation point of view than buying from a private seller. End users would feel less ripped off buying from BB.

@Brandworthy - What motivates you to continue being a BB seller, despite all the issues you have brought up, and despite lacking sales results?

Do you think BB offers the best channel for you to sell the nearly 1000 names you have listed with them, even with all the issues that affect their platform today?

Since your BB portfolio is still up, I assume you find the positive aspects of their platform to outweigh the many negatives you have highlighted. Would be interested in hearing your reasoning behind still being a BB seller (rather than moving your portfolio to other sales channels).

When you have a portfolio that is stacked with a ton of 6 letter names you have no choice but to stay with one of the marketplaces. That junk will never sell consistently on its own. I just dropped close to 1,000 of them in the past couple months. Over 2 million possible CVCVCV combinations is way to many choices to be profitable. If it doesn't have a keyword or partial keyword it will probably never ever sell without BB or BR.

99% of my buyers know who Escrow.com is and 99% of my buyers never ever heard about BB ...

Only reason why they contacted you directly is to try to buy the domain cheaper. If your name wasn't published on BB they would not have discovered your domain.
I've had plenty of leads come via whois for my BB names who had no idea about BB or who had visited the BB landing page by type-in.

I was also in BB's now defunct affiliate programs, and I had quite a few sales that originated from my type-in traffic and not from visits to their site. So I have some hard data and direct knowledge of the level of sales via type-in. They'll never admit to this of course.

Good question. I previously gave notice that I was taking my names down, and my intention was to build an Efty-like system, but other commitments have gotten in way (domains are only a side-gig for me). I've again given them notice that I'm taking my name's away recently, and this time will follow through. Being honest moving 1K names to anywhere else isn't a trivial task.

As much as I love your insight in brandables I have to disagree. I've sold plenty of these names outside the brandable marketplaces, and I think good 6L's will continue to be the brandable name of choice for many startups and rebrands.

I didn't say they were all bad. If they have a keyword or partial keyword in the name then they do sell. I was also only talking about CVCVCV names. The other patterns when they are unique and sound good do sell. Those are a completely different animal.

I assume this is now deleted from slack? I would have enjoyed seeing this.
You assume correct. What's more, third parties (read insiders) had previously defended Margot very vocally on Slack claimimg that she didn't use privacy. She never corrected this, but of course the messages fell into the either as 10K limits are hit very quickly with hundreds of sellers on Slack channel.

What most of the defenders fail to declare is that they receive perks from BB. I'll state here that I was also a recipient of these perks at one time, but they were removed as I became a more vocal critic of certain business practices they had.

That's also what I'm referring to. Not keywords or any other patterns. I'm particularly fond of names with the same vowel repeated, and see these as more valuable in many cases.

I noticed BrandBucketFraud.com was recently registered. Found this tweet from the registrant, but couldn't find the story behind it. Anyone active on twitter want to get his story? Tweet Here

His tweets are in German then they stop in 2013. Four years later one pops in English tweeting about BrandBucket. Stolen account? Very odd.

Just saw unrecognizable.com listed via their Twitter account. Imagine submitting this 2 or 3 years ago?

Not sure if you're trying to divert the question or being facetious but there have been several claims of "perks" to insider/favored members. None of these are "perks" in this context. Please don't try to insult the intelligence of the rest of the members of this thread by answering a serious and genuine question like this.

As with many platforms, and across many industries, top suppliers are often recognised and nurtured. I have a VIP account with an account manager at Godaddy for instance.

BB is no different, and some sellers received treatment that isn't provided to the general seller population. I would be very surprised if I was the only recipient of this treatment, and suspect others probably benefited more than I did. I'd rather not get into specifics, although I do not recollect ever being asked to keep this confidential.
