Trying to be cheeky because excited with few sales? Okay, I can understand that..

Not focusing more to get sales from BB but using the high value intelligence at your expense to improve our daily business decisions and minimising risks.

Does it work? Hell yes!

Justin: Okay sir, how it works?
Bolt: Errm Justin see don't worry about it, just depend on them as usual.
Justin: Okay I will.
Bolt: Good.

Whilst you are focussing on bots and research, I focus on profits.

BB also offers 15%.

Is 15% low?
You are miscontextualizing their commission fees. You have never paid 15 or 20% commission for a name you sold on BB (neither have I).

BrandBucket's commission fees:
$0-50,000 - 30%
$50,000-99,00 - 20%
$100,000+ - 15%

I said also...implying they have more than one rate.

May be some people get 10% for their effort.

Always "great" to wake up in the morning and read on NPs about a bunch of people pulling out tape measures to see who's is bigger. O_o

Truth is this BB thread tends to bring out two types of people - one's that hate it, and one's that love it.

Then there are some of us who see it as it really is - an available marketplace for our domains if we decide it is in our best interest to be in a partnership with them. I see some people in here who do try to come in to this thread with this view - but it does not take long for the two other groups to irritate them out of here.

I personally have profited from my relationship with BB thus far and will continue down this road. I of course would post my thoughts in the future if they change.

I am currently holding around 5% STR with about 100 domain portfolio with them - so I am happy.

Do I have concerns? Yes.
Are the commission and fees a little high? Yes - but so far my return justifies these fees.
Could transparency be better? Yes. I am a big advocate of this.
Is BB right for everyone? No. You need to do your own math and make your own decisions.

My opinion is there are people with valid concerns - and I'd love to continue to see those expressed in a productive manner. I don't believe these people should be shouted down or "annoyed out of town" by BB supporters.

For anyone not participating in productive conversation that has long left BB - I do not see the point in continuing to harp on issues that you have expressed - as you made your decision to leave. Let people know why and let that be that. Your success outside of BB should be enough proof to you that you made the right business decision - what benefit do you gain from being an attack dog?

I say we bring this thread back to a productive conversation - but maybe I am asking for the impossible here.

Best luck to all - and happy domaining,
Mike.

This thread is about the BrandBucket Experience... That doesn't mean only good experiences should be shared. It's good and bad.

They "closed my account", because I added the domains to my website... (they had been there all along) ... but won't remove my domains from their site even though after they "closed my account", I moved my nameservers back to my own site. The point they are trying to make with this? Not sure.

I know the only reason they closed it now was because I was very vocal on their Slack channels... the domains being on my site was just an excuse to shut me up (I was kicked from all of their Slack channels)...

A company that either completely ignores feedback, no matter how frank it is, and sends out complete shills who refuse to acknowledge even the most obvious flaws in this business, is a company that will eventually fail. Like someone stated earlier, there are individuals/companies who are paying attention and either starting up competing companies or making adjustments on their current businesses to pull away the very people who make up BB.

What commission % do you pay to BB then?
Depends on the sale price. As we established, BB charges 15%, 20% and 30%.

I have a domain for sale on BB where I will pay 20% when it sells.

You are purposely trying to be deceiving with this comment. They charge 30%, 20%, 15%...

$0-50,000 = 30% commission on top of submission, publishing and logo fees.

You don't own one name that even gets close to qualifying for less than 30% commission.

So to date you have never paid less than 30% commission fee on any sale. Ergo your commission fee is 30%.

I submitted 8 keyword names, all .coms, 2 word, max 4 syllable domains. BB chose the longest! I was surprised. Got back to me in 72 hours. Not great pricing on it--I would say it is a lifestyle domain rather than tech, which they seem to prefer. One of the rejects: footspeed.com--"as fast as humanly possible" seemed like a better match for them.

BB does not share metrics about sold names. Be sure to search for other threads on NamePros about the BB experience.

What would you know what I have listed on BB? You don't even know my BB username?

BrandBucket's commission fees:

$100,000+ - 15%

So if you sell for 45000, you pay 12500 commission, if you sell for 51000, you pay 10200?

Sometimes I get a feel that you are a proxy tool to be rude to people that ask inconvenient questions and you don't have real portfolio there.

I don't need to prove anything to you. Have you made your first sale yet?

I have made 4 sales with BB and 4 sales with BR in about one year...

You don't have to prove anything to me. You just need to stop acting as BB's staff member and BB shouldn't quietly endorse that kind of behavior. I haven't seen any other company that allows rude proxy responses stand and not provide their own courteous response to issues.
