Usually when you hide that kind of stats from people, there are 2 main reasons for that.
1- You don't have good results and want to hide it.
2- You are doing amazingly great and want to hide it.

We are not asking for $$$ numbers, we are asking for quantity numbers.

Wish I could like both of your comments twice. :)

Svede-I've asked for that stat 10 times here and NEVER got an answer. I have the financial ability, such as others here I'm sure, to give BB well over 2-3000 names if the situation was right but, like you, that "no reply" is very concerning so why even consider giving BB names in volume without that numer.

This is exactly what I am bringing attention to. I want an answer or I will walk elsewhere. I have 26 ($260 in fees) all ready to publish - but would definitely be adding many more. If you added 2-3000 names, that would be $20-30k in fee revenue. Even if it added $5k total in fees from all those waiting on the answer, it really seems worth their time to answer....

And this is exactly the other half of what I am saying... and fearing the answer is #1 for why they won't answer...

Thanks!

Hi @svede

I can say that we have experienced a 250% growth in individual sales year over year. It is has been a great summer of sales and we are doubling down on our marketing efforts in this quarter (new banner ads, marketing networks, sponsorships, etc) as well as operational improvements that will keep our momentum riding high into 2016.

Sorry for the delay in getting out the seller's email for August. My time off set things back a bit. It will be going out next week.

@michaeljkrell -

May I ask 2 simple questions...

1) How many units (names) sold in 2014?
2) How many units (names) sold in 2015 (YTD)?

Thank you,

-JIm

Hi, Jim. We don't wish to disclose our exact numbers at this time, but this is a position that may change in the future.

I think the domain quantity on BB almost tripled in 2015.
So if sales growth is 250%, it more than tripled.
I guess that is positive :)

That's comparable to asking an investor to buy FaceBook or any other stock without quarterly earnings reports from them. The difference is that BB is a private company and it's certainly your right but perhaps you could disclose what percentage of names were sold by anyone other than yourself,Boxador or Mr Rice.

Can you disclose any of the reasoning behind this decision, in any way?

Well, his reply made my decision to submit names easy. :) If the submissions were free, that would be a different story. But it costs $ to list.

All I can say is that releasing exact stats is something we have been considering over the last couple of months.

I am very glad Brand Bucket doesn't share their #'s. Because if people knew how many names they sell, then everyone and their dog would be listing names on BB! Ever since the $10 listing fee, I notice the # of names being added slowed down! If I was BB I would increase the listing fee to $20 or $25. IMO the result would be quality over quantity.

How do you spell pandering?? You've got to be kidding.

$25 listing fees?
It would not hurt them. The owners/partners are the big players at BB and they don't pay fees to publish + 100% approval so they would just get a bigger chunk of the sales over time as no new comers would jump in.

But the $10 is a good thing. It controls the quantity a bit and it is still cheap.

I can only imagine the look on everyones face when they read my last post! ;) But its true, 20K names is a lot! And BB was very smart to add the $10 fee. The result we are just starting to see. Imagine if it cost $20, we would all think twice about the names we list, and that would be a good thing. But i understand most people would rather have it all free and the result would be 100K listed names on BB next year. No thanks

If the voting system was still in place, we'd be well over 25K by now.

They say no pain, no gain.
Right now on BB I am in terrible pain .. I hope there will be a bit of gain someday ..ahah
