8 weeks, 4 days, since i summited a batch of test domains.

Here is the break down:
2 weeks: approval time
1week: description time
3 weeks: logo time
2 weeks 4 days: waiting..'logo queried for publishing'

To make the wait time more fun: I have a bet with my partner, I bet BB would take 10 weeks or less until 1st logo is live on site. My partners bet was that BB would take more than 3 months.....1/4 of a year before logo was live.

Time will tell.

I was wanting to submit about 50 domains to BB. But then I found this thread and I am on the fence....

Is/are the submitted domain(s) not permitted to be listed elsewhere during this 2-3 month or longer period? Or does that exclusivity begin the day the domain goes live on the BB system?

The moment they accept your domains, and you complete BB listing process (pay listing fee, verify domain, edit description), you got it stuck with BB.

I did manage to delete my domain once at this point, also got back my deposit. But they sent me mail saying that this was "one time exception", so overall if you do click "submit for listing" after paying your fee, they got exclusive according to their TOS.

Im not 100% sure about that tho, its just based on my short experience

So you gotta tie up an asset and your money for upwards of 1/4 of the year(!) without any possibility of anyone traffic seeing them?

At least when I list my house for sale, and sign a 90 day exclusive contract with a broker, people/traffic are seeing the house listing immediately.

Something needs to be done about that. If this wait-time true, and it seems it is, then simple operations research reveals major problems in that process-pipeline.

Thanks for the info! I think I know which side of the fence I just landed on... :)

I looked up their TOS. It says the following:

"By submitting your name for listing at BrandBucket you are agreeing to have BrandBucket as the exclusive seller for duration that a domain name is listed, and transacting a sale outside of the BrandBucket marketplace for the purpose of circumventing fees that would otherwise be due to BrandBucket is strictly prohibited. "

I'm not sure how they actually enforce their policies, but what's actually written in their terms seems to suggest that exclusivity only applies while the domain is listed.

I guess I will shoot them an email and find out for sure.

I think you can forget about selling names with BB at this point of time.

Unless you got a really huge portfolio with them allready, it will take months for your few names to actually go live, then you got thousands of competitors like Michael (no offence)

Few of my names are waiting almost a month allready to just get a description after being accepted, then prolly another half a year to get logo.

$xxx wasted on listing fees imho

You have to pay up front or when accepted?

You have to pay up front or when accepted?

You only pay for accepted domains. Submitting names is totally free.

First you submit domain names

Then they gonna review it, if they are interested in listing Your domains (it takes random amounts of time, they accept a lot at this point, if the name is poor, but have ANY potential, they will will set 995$ as suggested price and carry on)

At this point you decide. If you wanna list it, you have to complete 3 tasks: pay 10$, verify ownership and accept the price they sugested (you can adjust their price by +/- 20%)

When you complete those 3 things, you click "Submit for listing", and it goes to a "Your domains pending BrandBucket Review" queue. This is basicaly a queue, where they gonna look again at your listing and create a desription for your listing. This takes another zilion days.

After they finally write one sentence description, it goes to "Your domains pending Logo design" queue. Which can last for... (put a random number of weeks/months here)

Dwarf elders says, that after they design your logo, it will show up on their page, but i was not so lucky to experience this part yet.

Hey, Everyone,

Things are getting back on track this week and a good number of names will be going live.

The logo design is still a bit of pain point. BB is focusing their efforts on attracting new logo designers and getting their current ones to be more productive.

Thank you all for your patience, and let me know if I can look into anything for you.

Michael

Yes. Would you please look into waiving the listing fee, reducing the commission rate, and eliminating the exclusivity requirement? Thanks in advance. :D

What are the requirements on becoming a logo designer?

Isn't this the same answer you been giving for months now?

You should be hearing back pretty soon. The goal is around 7-10 days, but if an unusually large number of submissions, it can take longer.

The ultimate goal is definitely more in the 7-10 day range, but yes, things are a little backed up now

The goal is to have things live on BB from submission in 2-3 weeks, but things are a little backed up now. I should have an update later this afternoon.

Thank you for your patience!

It looks like the backlog of names is definitely subsiding, and you should definitely see things moving quickly along by early next week.

BB would like to thank everyone for their patience!

Hey, NJ,

The goal is to get submission reviews down to one week, but things are running a little behind now due to a large influx in submissions. Hopefully they will get reviewed in the next week.

Thanks for your patience.

There is no doubt that the logo design has been the bottleneck in the past. Submission-to-published times as a whole have improved since the beginning of the year, but yes, the last month or two have been on the slower end.
