Sold these two last week...

Michael may I ask how long they were roughly listed on the site for?
I also noticed that you have your own site with domain names, if you feel you're more successful selling domains on BB, why don't you shift more inventory over to their site rather than your own? I know you have over 700 listed on BB but mediaplow looks like it has more.

Thank you in advance.

Jake

Hey, Jake,

I will be shifting the vast majority of my domains over to BrandBucket because they do sell a whole lot better :). That shift started in July, and will continue through the end of year. I basically put them on MediaPlow until they are ready to go into BrandBucket.

Those two names were probably on the site for a few months.

Thanks for the quick response. Does BB intend to include more gTLDs over time then? I've noticed you have some .orgs for sale on your site. I also guess with your success with BB there's the odd domainer that tries to sell directly to you via your site!

They currently sell some premium .ly domains, and Margot has mentioned they are open to accepting some premium names in other extensions such as io, but this will make up a very small percentage of the names listed there.

Yeah, I have a couple of generic/geo .orgs in the farming area. I think those are literally the only .orgs that I own. I don't imagine those ever making their way to BB.

A couple people have asked if I will list their names, but that isn't something I do. BB does a great job of getting your names in front of people who want to buy them.

2 weeks and 3 days since submission and my first name accepted by Brandbucket has finally gone live! Here's hoping for a sale!

BB is back in the 2 week range for reviewing submissions, and I am finding their support more responsive. Good to see progress!

Definitely and I appreciate that they take the time in sending back logos to designers that need improving.

Noticed this as well. Even in cases where the awards were $100 on 1k names, if it didn't meet quality control, it was redone. This speaks very well for the company as a whole.

@michaeljkrell is on today's DomainSherpa show sharing his tricks of the trade. Worth a look/listen if you have time.

Saw most of the interview;) Great to see you on there Michael!
RE: BB, they are really kicking it into high gear, names are looked at within 9 days, 2 weeks at latest. I've had 30 names accepted, half already listed. Hopefully I'll see a sale at some point;)

In last two months, even with more names listed in BB (about 10 times as many in BR), I made more sales in BR than in BB.
So, I guess the BB names acceptance strategy, which allows more lower quality ones to be listed, had hurt my sales rate in BB (it could be because there too many competitions in BB list, or because my recently-accepted names are indeed have low quality so it won't make a sale anyway).
What about you, does this only happen to me?

I'm only 2 months in, names still going live, no sales (yet) to comment. Though overall as far as the process, of submitting, email exchanges, even a personal message from Margot, I feel good about BB. Too soon to tell though. I have 35 names accepted, so we shall see.

First one went live yesterday. It was one rejected by BB originally so will be interesting to see whether it sells. Whilst BB do accept lower quality names, BR have a much broader spectrum in terms of pricing to .coms in my opinion and so negates the argument of BB selling lower quality domains. At the end of the day though it's down to the marketing of said name and for someone to pay the listed price for it regardless of the marketplace it is on.

I've been 2.5 years with BB.
Before April 2014 (when it started lowering the acceptance quality), I had about 25 names listed and made 6 sales (at that time the number of all names listed at BB is about 2K+).
Currently, I have about 200 names listed (out of 6K+ of total BB list) and only make 4 sales since april 2014 (not bad actually in term of sales, but it is bad in term of sales rate of my listing). Maybe, currently it's time to wait and see for me rather than submitting new names.

Oops that was meant to be in response to fewer sales on BB and probably should have gone on the Brandroot thread haha.
