since a few days ago, BB had updated its website. What is the sort criteria on the homepage? it doesn't display the latest ones anymore.

I'm curious about this too. Not just the homepage but the ranking on all of the category pages such as http://www.brandbucket.com/category/5-letter-domain-names has changed as well.

We are tweaking the sort order and "rank" of each name on BrandBucket in order to target better conversions and to increase visitor (buyer) confidence on their first visit. Right now, and this may change as we gather data, the default sort order on the home page lists names in the following order: staff picks sorted by date added (newest to oldest), then the rest of the names sorted by date added. Within the rest/non-staff pick we are optimizing based on different factors in each name.

This is an ongoing process and we are focusing a lot of effort on to make sure that we are converting visitors to buyers. In the near future date added may or may not factor into the default ranking, but we will be adding a "sort by date added" for those people -- frequent visitors and domain owners keeping an eye on things -- who want to see the names ordered that way.

Something to keep in mind is that 95% of sales on BrandBucket happen after the user has performed a search for a specific keyword or phrase revealing targeted relevant names.

Is it smart to submit the same names to two of three companies at once? Namerific & BB for example? I have it spread out, I submitted 15 to BB, 10 to Namerific, and 5 to Brandroot. One was rejected off the bat at BR (didn't pass the sound test hehe) Since the latter wants exclusivity from the onset, I'm wondering, especially considering the wait time, I should submit the Namerefic names on BB in the interim. Thoughts?

Thanks for the explanation. I think it's worth to try to increase sales.
So, 95% buyers at BB have already had their specific niche target. It's good to know that we don't compete with all 5000+ names on BB, but with only the same niche names.

What's the time frame on names being looked at currently? 1-2 weeks? I assume there's a backlog...just curious.

Having just submitted the majority of names to BB with nary a peep, I'm curious what the turn around time is, say once a name is accepted--->description--->logo---> live. Having gotten acceptances within one week of submitting names at both Namerific and BR (juries still out on turnaround time) what might I expect? I have a bunch of other names, but I'm hesitating to submit anymore to BB in the interim.

The goal is to have things live on BB from submission in 2-3 weeks, but things are a little backed up now. I should have an update later this afternoon.
