seems like alot of effort for little return.

How do you know that?

You would almost need to sell a domain an hour to make equate to having a job.

Finding, buying, listing, selling, transferring, emailing, checking account and funds for each domain seems like you would come out at way less than minimum wage if lucky.

I think most of the low dollar sales are just people dropping the junk in their portfolio so they don't have to renew it. Cutting loses.

You speak like a domain veteran who makes most of his via inbound queries so it will be difficult convincing you. Let's say buy 50 domains via Domain.com or Dotster for $100. I could sell it on Flippa for roughly $1000 - $2000. This equates to having a job.

Plus what I am talking about is Flipping. Huge Difference. Most of Flippers have other jobs too.

If it was that easy everyone would be doing it...

Most of the best names on BB were not purchased for $2. It can be done, but believe me you wont do it consistently.

I personally think that the we should be able to award the logo designer after the logo is finished.. it makes me sick to pay over $100 for some of these logos. i have some crappy logos i wouldn't pay 10 cents for

also we should have the option for them to remake the logo!

That seems like a scam job. $100 for a logo? This reminds me of the Paid Appraisal scam.

@imadoer @brindle123 I couldn't agree more!

We've reported this many times, and yet they continue to run this scam on us. Is there anything else we can do to sway them to change this policy?

Perhaps a petition?

Or, dare I say forward our traffic domains to this thread (post) in efforts of raising awareness. If the "internet" knew BrandBucket provides poor CHEAP LOW QUALITY logo's, there would be mounted pressure to change this monopolized strategy.

I'm tired of them blowing smoke by saying something is in the works. Actions speak louder than words...

Alright, alright, alright!

I PM'd you with thoughts of a new thread where we can detail this logo scam and include a petition for policy change.

We will be more effective if we unionize and work together.

Hmm... The chance for a name to sell is around 2%. So the logo designer's expected reward for one $100 logo is about $2 (per year). I am not sure why you call it a scam. It is a very underpaid job, so it does not probably attract many talents. Maybe what you want is an option to insert your own logos, designed privately by your own freelancers (whom you have hired yourself, on forums or wherever you find them)?

1. Aren't they also paid from the $9-10/name they get paid for?
2. BB claims sales of 3.5%-4%

Yes, it is not a high paying job, but what is the point of providing a service if it is going to work like "you are going to get a sh*tty product, because the designers are not paid well"?

Even so we should have the right to reject the logo design. What sense does it make to pay them 200 if it sells for a logo that is crap. A bad logo can effect the chances of a sale

Hence the following need...

I personally think that the we should be able to award the logo designer after the logo is finished..

I believe they also have an option to take $5 upfront in exchange BrandBucket pockets the $100+ logo design award when it sells? I could be wrong, but I remember hearing something about this.

You bring up a good point about $2 not being very much. This lack of incentive seems to result in poor quality logos. I appreciate the logo's that take more than 5 minutes to design, and I feel these designers should be compensated proportionally.

I don't know... maybe we could rate our logos and based on that rating we could be given the designers whom we like most. Logos are very subjective, different people like different styles.

thx alot!

Wow, they want $100 - $500 for just the logo and u decide how much to pay them.

What does a $500 logo look like compared to a $100 one? is it 24 k gold?

Plus 30% commission is steep imho

so on a $1000 sale you end up paying a minimum of $410.00.

41% goes to BB is the MINIMUM !

Are domainers this desperate (or dense?) that they will pay almost 50% to try to sell their domains??

man alive
And you are not sure whether your domain would sell...

I've a big Question?
The seller has to pay the logo fee (let's say $100) before or after the sale has taken place? I'd appreciate if someone elaborate this issue. Thanks in advance.
