Yes there are but please-most of these names can't even be pronounced let alone sold to an end user other than BB or Namerific. Go try and sell 50 of these names on SEDO and let us know how you make out.

How many of classified ad sites how you tried? And there are so many more options to sell domains.. Step out of box of typical Sedo's, Ebay's and more. Yes' list domains there, but do some reaserch you'll be suprissed of the options out there!

I was sitting and thinking to my self! names aren't accepted, now I am never going to sell them. They don't even make a sense. What's the point?

Then I actually stopped moaning to myself and decided to do something about it! Go down fighting, if I must. Amazing how much we can do when we decide to dedicate some time and try something new!

If they ever want to ramp up inventory again, all they have to do is drop that $10 listing fee down to $2 or $3.

Actually I have no intention of going down at all-that's why I'm limiting what I give BB but thank you for the advice.

BrandBucket is the casino-the sellers are the gamblers-and that's fine as long as you understand that going in. BB was probably a tremendous opportunity a few years back when they had 1500-2000 names and if you owned 300 or so that were published with them but that simply isn't the case now.

People owning 300 domains in a 1500-2000 inventory only allows 6 sellers .. this post would not exists in these conditions.

What are you talking about-didn't Michael Krell own 10% of all names published at one point? Of course it would exist.

There are LOTS of other places to list domains, that is true. And lately it seems like there is a new one every day. But there are very few that are professional and actually do marketing. Its one thing to throw up a site and wait for organic traffic, maybe do a little SEO and hope for visitors, then hope the visitors are really buyers and convert. Its a whole different level to have an outbound sales team and a marketing budget to drive traffic to your site. There are not a ton of options, but one is to do your own site and then spend money to advertise it. I would bet that most of the places to list domains don't sell a thing.

He actually owns 14% of the inventory. He owns 2,767 out of 19,585 names. His number will continue to increase because guess who gets to choose all those names that are listed when people decide not to renew anymore? Yep, you guessed it.

Michael owns 14.13% of BB names now.

What would have been your solution to keep the inventory around 5000 domains? Only allow a small private network of 50 sellers all owning 100 names each?

Most of us would not be here talking about BB because we would not have the opportunity to be sellers.

If BB made it a small group of 50 sellers guess what-count me in. I'd make that investment in a minute as long as I was also part of the approval process as Hook mentioned above that Krell is now-how could you lose? Hook is 100% correct-not only that but Michael Krells approval rate just went to 100% with all the names that will be dropped-and I don't blame Michael one bit. He was in the right place at the right time and took a shot in a bigger way than others did and it's paid off.

Of course you say "count me in" now. But in the real world, that small group of seller would have been the first people to learn about the website .. all the others .. well go away boys, we don't want you here. That includes me and a lot of other sellers like me who found about BB much later.

That's really not true. When they were at that point the probabilities were in your favor and could be easily seen-you didn't need an algo to figure it out-so yes I would have said count me in-remember you're talking about an investment of $5000 at that point tops-not $500,000.

What I mean is the only way you would have been in is if you were in the first 50 people to discover BB. Because after that all the spots would have been filled. No more spot for new sellers.

My experience is different. I think BB readily accepts new sellers and new names, to the point that old sellers might even feel disappointed as their profits dissipate ;)

BB is at 19,578 today ... is it that 7 domains where removed in 1 days or there was some sales.

Its been a while without hearing from Michael.

You have to assume some were added, sold, and removed in any given week. @dv82 reported a sale this week - so we know there was at least one sale. @Miks reported adding one - so we know there was at least one added. Though of course anything beyond that is speculation without them releasing sales #s.

I am less concerned (though of course as a seller it is discerning) about them ramping up their inventory as I am about rather or not they are upping their marketing and sales strategies to match.

I am still watching BB, this thread, the internet, and waiting to form an opinion on their current strategy and if I want to continue to utilize their marketplace and in what volume.

It basically comes down to does my strategy coincide with theirs (or can mine be modified) to the point that it is profitable to do business with them. Or does their marketplace hinder my sales by locking me into one venue that is not performing.

Time will tell - and I think different people will have different point of views on this depending on their domain quality and quantity.

It's a combination of both. Some names are removed because of sales and some because they are expiring and the owner doesn't want to renew it so it's removed. With 20,000 names I'm sure this happens on a regular basis.

is there any way to track those names expired?

Monitor the whois info for their DB of names would be about the only way. I am sure there are already people doing this.

Also keep in mind - a name that was once accepted into BB is not guaranteed to be accepted when resubmitted. Especially if it is a lower quality domain and their target was 20,000 - which they are at.

Monitoring 20000 names, which are not in a list, is very difficult.
