Most of you know about the fact that German car manufacturers Audi and Mercedes-Benz developed quite early their video sites on .tv domains to promote their brands and benefit from the fantastic opportunities offered by online video. We've discussed those two .tv sites quite a few times on this forum :
http://www.audi.tv
http://www.mercedes-benz.tv

But I don't think that anyone has yet mentioned that BMW has recently launched its very own .tv site too, BMW-WEB.TV :
http://www.bmw-web.tv

What's particularly interesting is that BMW already had a video site in the past and that its address was http://www.bmw.com/vodcast

Nice to see yet another big corporation moving from .com to .tv ! :tu:

We can see that .tv is really becoming the extension of choice for the whole world of online video, as it's widely used by many media companies but also by more and more big corporations and established businesses. :)

Ok....you win.

Let's just put a positive spin on everything dot tv and never, ever, state anything closely resembling an objective opinion. We can all live in harmony in our cozy little dot-tv fantasy world. Geesh.

Nothing objective about your post.

This thread was started by Michaeldotcom to inform us BMW have started to use a .tv in place of a dot com.

Yet you then come on saying how crap that they have used a hyphenated name whilst they are in Beta??, completely missing the whole point of why this thread was started in the first place.?? :td:

I am not here to be a spin Doctor for .TV, it doesn't need it,but please try and read the replies you get in a thread before going off on a rant about something that is completely irrelevant to the topic of the thread.

If threads like these continue to be trashed by negative remarks then they will eventually dry up and we what few threads we do have will be full of trolls and how .tv is doomed to failure for the same old tiresome reasons we keep hearing.

My first post in this thread (which was intended to be my only post) was posted in agreement with Malaysia. Then you showed up. I don't think .TV is doomed to failure or I wouldn't own 50 .TVs and still be actively buying them.

Agreed >:(

A great brand like BMW choosing .tv over .com should be great news we should all be delighted about, the fact that any of us dont think they are beta testing in the best manner by choosing an hyphenated domains is not really worth constant complaints. IMHO

I LOVE the BMW site by the way, looks amazing.
Positivity not spin :!:

Michaeldotcom - Great find. Yes - another major corporation choosing .TV for online video. And what a nice global brand B M W -

PS Beta will sort itself out - funny, away for a little over a week on holiday - and completely away from the grid (yep) and I see that the TV section is alive, kicking and full of spunk. Cheers, Carryon
